Question about HP PL5000N 50 in. HDTV Plasma Television

Open Question

MY HP 50 INCH PLASMA TV WENT WRONG A FEW DAYS AGO. It went on and off byitself in the interval of a few minutes. My TV remote control was out of way. I made sure the problem was not cause by the remote control. I relocated the TV to an area far away from flourcent lamps to avoid any unwanted signal, but still showed the same flicking on and off problem. Could you tell me what possibly went wrong with this TV? Is it the power supply control probelm? Thank you for your help. Fer. ****

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: HP Plasma TV Remote Control Codes

Not all universal remote or dedicated universal remotes will work with every combination of devices.

Call the tech support for your TiVO, and also for HP to see if they have an answer.

It is hard to find a company that will tell you where the parts come from. Most parts you cannot purchase in america.
Here is a website I would suggest that will help you at best!

Tv went black no sound either. TV only five years old,is there anything i can do? Thanks James

Cannot offer solution but my mine has also gone bad.  At first a black shadow appeared on the left side of the screen.  Took it to the authorized service center.  they kept it a few days, said nothing could be done.  Used it anyway for the next 5 years when suddenly it went black (or sometimes blue) after working perfectly for the first 5 minutes. A sharp rap next to the right speaker fixed it a few times, but no more.  Good luck.

T.V. TURNING OFF AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES.

Go to Samsung.com for solution. There is a switch that just needs to be repositioned behind access door on rear. Fixed my HL-S5086W ok.

NO VIDEO

I have a Samsung 50" plasma, that has been blacking out over the last 6 months. A 9/2005 set. Now its practically unwatchable as it happens 3 times in an hour. Its not heat related - I have a high volume 9" fan activated on TV power on. Turning the set offf/on usually makes it come back for a now short while. Considering to go put it in the back of my pickup and park it in front of Best Buy and discourage Samsung purchases. This is the 2nd Samsung TV I've purchased (the other a 32" tube) I gave to my folks a couple years ago and its gone bad as well. Samsung product may look good, but their video engineers are not.

Panasonic 50 inch Plasma

it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.

Red Dots on My Plasma.

Did you get this problem resoslved? I had the same issue a few months ago. I tech came by and took my TV to the shop, a few days later he said it was fixed as they needed to make some adjustments.....The TV has been fine up until a week or so ago and now the red dots have appeared again. Was wondering what happened to yours.
