Gateway bios password reset

You'll have to open your case to do it.
1) Shut computer down.
2) Unplug computer power cord - IMPORTANT!
3) Wait a minute or so for all power to be dissipated. (Capacitors hold charge for a while even after shutdown.) This is for your safety, and to keep anything from happening to your computer.
4) Open case. The side is usually held on by 2 or 3 screws. Usually Phillips, could be knurled finger type. Open side by sliding back an inch or so. Then pull side away from case.
5) Look for a small plastic piece, about 1/8" x 1/4" looking from top. It should be on 2 of a set of 3 pins on the motherboard. There should be a label on the motherboard saying "reset" or "PW Reset" or "Password" or "bios reset", depending on which version of motherboard you have.
6) Lift the plastic piece up, noting which 2 of the 3 pins it is on first.
7) Put it on the other end of the set of 3 pins, using the middle pin over. (You are changing from one outer pin to the other outer pin.)
8) Put the power cord back in the power supply. Push the start button. Just a second will be plenty long.
9) Remove the power cord, waiting again for all power to dissipate.
10) Put the plastic piece back on the original 2 pins. Put case back together. Put power cord back, and turn on. The bios password will be removed.

No power suply

Do you mean what power supply to install inside of the computer? There is no power supply that plugs into the back of a desktop computer. If you are talking about what power plug goes into the back, Then any pc 3 slot female plug should work. The link below should give you an idea. If the link doesn't show, Then search for "computer power cords"

Can i put Nvidia 7300 SE 512mb 64bit video card on hp dc7600sff with 240 watt power suply will it work and not burn or overheat power suply or some other part?please help

Hi.

Yes you should be able to install that card in the DC7600 as it is a low profile graphics card, however i would think about upgrading the power supply as 240 watts might be a struggle for the computer.

How to open gateway 300c desktop

There are several casings. You'll just have to pick one that fits your computer. Before you begin anything. Turn off your computer and remove the power cable. New Midtower Case 1 Look for a release handle on the top of the new midtower case. 2 Push the release handle inward. 3 Swing the case down from the top to open it. Microtower Case 1 Lay the computer down so that the left side is face up. 2 Locate two cover release levers on the back of the case toward the middle of the left side panel. 3 Squeeze the release levers together, then lift the panel up, swinging it away from the back of the case. Old Midtower Case 1 Lay the computer on its side, so that the left side panel is face up. 2 Remove any retaining screws along the left side of the back of the case that are holding the panel in place. These screws may be removed with your fingers. 3 Locate two release levers at the top and bottom of the back side of the case, and push them away from each other. 5 Swing the panel up and away from the case to open it while holding the release levers.

I have an HP Pavilion a384x. It will not turn on

First with the computer turned off make sure the switch on the power supply is set to 115v.

If you turn the computer back on and you still get a flashing green light on the back of the power supply and a constant light on the front of the computer with no video, then try replacing the power supply with either a new one or a known working good one.

If that doesn't do it then it has to be the motherboard at that point.

Keep in mind normally on those power supplies, the green light should be constant. So it has to be either the power supply is bad or the moterboard is bad and you'll know when you put a new or known good working power supply in the computer.

It wont start up or turn on

This would be your power supply causing this - It's not putting enough power to the motherboard. Change out the power supply, and your problem will go away.

I have a dell dimension 3000 pc that i haven't used for a few weeks as i was waiting for an external hard drive to put all my music, videos etc on. I have just come to use the pc and it won't even turn on....

if the external hard drive is hook up to the main drive you might have to disconnect the exteranl hard drive and try another way to hook them up together . you did something wrong when you installed the externall drive. try it . and see if the original hard drive boots up. if this works you will have to change the boot sequence to use the external drive.
