Question about Jacuzzi Bath Era BK37 959 White toilet bowl and tank

1 Answer

My jacuzzi toilet won't quit filling, I have adjusted the fill valve and that hasn't worked. I read a post about a small metal clip below the fill valve, mine is red plastic but it fell off when I attempted to adjust it to lower the floater. It will not go back in place.

You gonna have to replace the whole fill valve mechanism. Go to the hardware store and get the Korky brand, because they work like a champ and they are super quiet. Don't buy Fluid Master because they clog easily and are junk. Learned that the hard way after having to 3/4 of them on a 42 unit apartment complex.

Why would the jacuzzi perfecta toilet handle comes off and now won't fill, just keeps running

Handle retaining nut either came loose or broke off. Check the flapper valve, if its not completely closed water will keep running out, and fill valve will stay open trying to fill the tank.

How do I adjust FLOAT VALVE in a Kohler San Martine toilet tank ?

On the fill valve float there will be either a plastic screw or a metal bar with a metal slide clip on it. If its a screw, use a screwdriver to turn it cw or ccw to adjust water level. If its a clip, compress the clip between your thumb and forefinger and slide it up or down along the bar to set the float level. You need to test it after adjusting. Level should be 1/2" below top of overflow tube.

Fluidmaster instructions

Turn off water at valve. Drain tank. Remove fill line that goes to bottom of tank. Remove large nut from underneath tank holding in old fill/float valve assembly. Clean area around hole in tank above and below. Get large black washer from kit put onto bottom of fluid-master pipe (lip side down). Place fluid-master into hole from top of tank to check height. Top of fluid-master valve should be even or just a bit below top of tank. To adjust hold head of fluid-master and turn pipe ccw to lengthen, cw to shorten. Once adjusted put into tank. Using large flat nut in kit tighten to tank, making sure its centered in the hole, no part of the float touching the sides of the tank, and that the small nipple on the side where the small black hose will attach is facing towards the overflow pipe. Make it nice and tight, but don\'t break it.Then re attach water supply line you removed earlier, hand tight only. Place pipe clip onto top of overflow pipe (funny looking plastic clip with metal piece attached). Attach small black hose to fill valve nipple on side of valve, other side to funny clip. You may need to cut it shorter so it doesn\'t kink. Tun on water and adjust float if required. Level should be 1/2" below top of overflow pipe.

The Fill valve bypasses after fill is complete. It sounds like water still running at a very small rate.I am looking to find a replacement valve.

try replacing the flapper or adjust the valve so the water does not fill over the tube. also the chain may be too tight on the flapper and keeping it from sealing

Just need to know how to adjust the 'arm' of the ballcock to lower the water level in the tank. Do I use the screw at the base of the arm?

Hello...

To adjust the water level, you need to set the height at which the float shuts off the water valve. There are several types of floats. In older toilets, the float hangs at the end of an armature, along a metal or plastic rod. Where that arm connects to the water valve there is usually a screw. Adjusting that screw will change the level at which the water valve shuts off. If there is no screw or it is already at its maximum, you may be able to bend the metal arm, but you should remove it from the valve or risk damaging the fill valve.
In newer toilets the float is often a collar around the fill valve and rides up and down vertically. The float typically has a spring clip connecting it to a metal rod which connects to the valve shut off control. Squeeze the spring clip to slide the float up or down the metal rod.
Manufacturers have several variations on the fill valve mechanism, but they all include a method for adjusting the water level. Close inspection should make it clear how to adjust your particular fill valve.

I hope this helps!

Jacuzzi espirit less than 1 year old, toilet runs and occassionally makes whisting noise. Sometimes it does not run - there is no pattern to what causes it to run or not run. This started suddently,...

Your symptoms point to a faulty "fill valve" (the piece with the float adjustment), and is most commonly caused by small particles caught inside from normal use or a mineral build up. To save time and energy i recommend you replace it with a Lavelle "Quiet Fill" fill valve available at most hardware or plumbing stores or online. They come with very easy to follow install instructions.

I have a Jacuzzi Perfecta toilet (bought Aug. 21, 2008) at Lowe's. I have the sales ticket. The toilet works fine. The tank fills very slowly (2 minutes) before it shuts off. It also makes a whistling...

Have you tried shutting water off and take top of valve appart and flush it out. It may have something in valve causing water to be restricted. It will have an arrow on it to direction to get it to come off.

Take appart and clean rubber disc and you can put something over top of valve , a small cup or something to enable you to flush the tank. Have someone help you and hold the cup above the valve so that when you turn water on for a few bursts to flush out the valve it goes into tank.

The actual stream that flows through valve is restricted down to almost 1/8 " opening so it wouldn't take mush to block the flow of water.

The disc you take out you can replace it, if it seems to be damaged and not working correctly. That will affect the flow also.

Once my tank has filled (toto toilet) the fill valve does not completely shut off. It just sort of trickles' in spurts.

The fill valve isn't adjusted correctly. Does it have a ballcock or a newer fill valve? If it's the ballcock, there's a screw in the middle of the fill valve that you can loosen to lower the ballcock. If it's newer, you'll see a float that surrounds the fill valve. It has a small metal clip toward the bottom that you need to pinch to raise or lower the float. It also has a large plastic screw with a phillips head at the top for fine tuning.

Water continues to drip into overflow tube after fill

This is normal, though not so if it is excessive. Try adjusting the fill valve (there is either a ballcock or a float that surrounds the fill valve). With the ballcock, there is a screw at the top of the fill valve to lower the arm, on the other there is a metal clip to pinch and move the float with a large plastic screw for fine tuning.
