Technics SJ-HD501 Minidisc Player Will not accept Disc

Hi peeps

I have a Technics Minidisc player, as described above. This is quite an old system, and I have not used it for a few years. Today I have tried to use it, but when I insert an MD (I have tried several), The display flashes "TOC Reading", but then ejects the MD, and displays "No1 F15".

Can anyone decipher this error?

Thanks

Demon.

I have the same problem. Bought SJ-HD501 at the bay for low money in "very good condition & fully operational".

Today try to test it but every MD I insert occurs the same:

Display shows : No1 F15 and disc will ejected immediatly.

    Plz Help !!!

There's a simple way to make it work again: open the chassis and tilt it 90 degrees. blow dry air (..) across the reader part of the drive (just over the lens and a little bit to the back of the bay. use no liquid and no cleaning tips. The error is clearly related to dust....worked fine for me on two drives. don't forget to mount the cover afterwards ;-))

I also tried yesterday to use it since it was used a few years ago, but it has same problem. First time, it displayed "No1 F15", but, I tried about ten times to insert MD. Then it works in reading MD with irregular noise of spinning. Finally, it fails to read MD and displayed " disc error". I tried many times, but it still doesn't work.

Have you found any solution to read MD?. Please let me know if you found. Thanks.

Disc ejection

You fix it by returning it to the guy who bought it and getting your money back. Call eBay customer service.
If it is too late, tell me more. Does the disc go right in and then right out? Does it try to read it first?

Hi have an mds-je500 minidisk player that stopped accepting disks, worked perfect one minute, says load error next each time i try to load, then says eject even though disk doesn't go all the way in....

The small limit switch for the disc in position typically goes bad on about 40% of all Sony Minidisc recorders. It is a $5 part, but will probably cost you $35 to get it installed.

You may have to clean the eye or lense in order to read the disc.
