By your description, it sounds like a continuous cycle problem. It could be an adjustment, or possibly need to have a part in the slide change mechanism replaced. Either way, these both are problems best left to people trained to affect such repairs. Contact a qualified service dealer.

Change a carosul for 35 mm slide projector

Hi Richard, Turn the projector on, press & hold down the "Select" button. While holding the "Select" button down, rotate the slide tray to the "Zero" position. You will then be able to lift the tray from the projector. Good Luck!! Jim

Kodak carousel 760h projector

Dirt or dust accumulation can retard the gear mechanism. If you get Canned Air at WalMart, blow out all open areas and see if you can dislodge the material collected inside.

Can I advance my slide tray manually?

A Kodak Carousel 600 has no Forward/Reverse buttons for tray movement. The only way to advance the tray with the slide change mechanism is by LIGHTLY depressing the SELECT bar. To manually advance the tray, push and hold the SELECT bar down fully. While holding the SELECT bar, you should be able to rotate the tray by hand. Good Luck!! Jim

Kodak 600 projector has not advance button

You're correct!! The Kodak Carousel 600 does not have an ADVANCE button. To advance the tray you LIGHTLY depress the SELECT bar on the edge of the projector. There is no reverse capability, other than holding the SELECT bar down fully and rotating the tray by hand. Enjoy your projector!! Jim

Slides won't advance or reverse

The AF-2 is suffering from old age! The problem you are experiencing is "continuous cycle", and is caused by the cycle contact either being bent or worn to the point it can't stop the cycle camstack at the end of a slide change. If you are familiar with projector repair, I can give you specific instructions. Otherwise, I suggest you locate an authorized repair dealer. Even though the projector is old, all the necessary parts are available from: www.micro-tools.com
Good Luck !! Jim

2 days ago my Kodak Carousel 760H projector started going backward or forward at will, inspite of which button was pushed. Now it will not go forward or backward with either the handheld or the side...

This is not an easy repair. It would probably be more cost-effective (if you will NEVER use the projector again) to rent one for the remainder of your project.

The problem you are describing is most likely a broken "link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. Over time, this plastic "link" gets hard & brittle, and cracks, giving the failure you describe. It is a significant tear-down of the projector by a trained technician.

MODEL 760h WILL NO LONGER ADVANCE SLIDES

The KODAK Carousel 760H was manufactured approximately between 1971 & 1981.
The problem you are describing is most likely a broken cycle solenoid "link". This "link" connects the cycle solenoid and the slide change mechanism. Repair parts are still available, but this is a repair best left to a factory-trained technician. Contact an Authorized Repair Dealer.

The purpose of the "SELECT BAR" on a Carousel 650H is to eject the slide. If you press & hold the select bar it allows you to rotate the tray to the slide you want (or Zero & remove the tray). If you can not advance or reverse the slide tray using either the remote buttons or the buttons on the side of the projector, then chances are you have a broken part in the slide change mechanism. The possibilities are numerous, and really requires a trained tech to analyze your specific failure. Sorry the news isn't better (or simpler!).
