GE refrigerator stopped making ice two days ago, Water still comes through door OK. I tried lowering freezer temp a day ago and still no ice.

my ge fridge/freezer is 5yrs old and has just stopped making ice. the grinding mechanism still works but no ice is being made. water is still dispensed through th door when required. There is some plastic caught in the teeth of the ice maker but I cannot get it out as I do not know how to take the piece apart

I have the same problem. My ice maker isn't working, but I'm still getting water through the door. My fridge is 2 years old.

My GE stopped making ice, but there is still water coming from the door. I have just turned the freezer off to see if there is any ice blocking the line.
I had a problem a few years ago with water settling down the bottom of the freezer and I think I put Vinegar down the drain in the freezer.
