Question about Starbucks Barista Quattro Coffee Maker

5 Answers

I have the Starbucks Barista Aroma 12 cup machine. I was hand-washing the cup that holds the gold filter basket. A piece at the bottom (valve?) came off and I found a black valve and a spring, but I cant make this fit back in the hole at the bottom. I think there must be a missing part in addition to the round piece with the stem and the spring. I would not mind buying a whole new cup if that is available. Can you help me? Thank you very much!

My product is NOT the Quattro model, it is the Barista Aroma Grande model.

  • salliebean Sep 14, 2010

The nearest Starbucks is 40 miles away. And the Starbucks customer service department no longer supports this specific model. The local shop does not keep parts! This is not a workable solution for me. I need to know if someone can find a source for the parts. Thank you for your effort.

What I need is a source for this part for this model coffee maker. It is not available through Starbucks. Maybe there is a different brand that has an interchangable part.

  • salliebean Sep 14, 2010

I've already done this. Starbucks has discontinued support and service of any type (including parts) for their Starbucks Barista line of coffee makers. Thank you for your efforts.

I have sent an email to this company that you found the link for. I will let you know if they can help me. This is the info that I believe that I needed. Thank you so very much! After I hear back from them I will let you know if my problem is solved, and then I will "accept this solution" . I truly appreciate your work in finding this source.

Hi there, I am pretty sure that the bit you are missing is some kind of rubber washer that goes at the end of the spring and squeezes into the hole in the bottom of the filter holder. This rubber then seal it for when you take the dispensing jug off of the coffee maker while it is still brewing.

This website lists parts available for this machine and hopefully you will be able to find the bit you need. I am sure these people will be able to help you though if you cannot locate the part you need.

You should be able to go to your owners manual and in the back it will have a parts list and a phone number to order whatever you need. If you don't have the owners manual, then you can usually go to where you purchased the coffee maker and they will help you out. I hope that this helps you!

Need lid for starbucks barista aroma grande 12 cup carafe.

The exact same lid is on the Wolfgang Puck WPTPCM010 coffee maker. (It's exactly like the Starbucks one - same size & fit.) Call (800) 275-8273 and order part # WPTPCM010-6; the product description is "LID FOR CARAFE". It will cost you $4.99 + 5.00 shipping. My Starbucks coffee pot works PERFECTLY again. Just make sure that you put the lid on the carafe correctly before you use it, since the seal is new.

RE Starbucks Barista Aroma Grande Coffee Maker - the part that holds the coffee basket has a spring and a rounded ball-like plug in the bottom that presses down a button on the top of the coffee caraf. ...

Hello Tjreindl,

That is just to keep the machine from spilling COFFEE
all over the place if the OPERATER yanks out the
CARAF WHILE THE COFFEE IS BREWING...

(before it is done...
(About as smart as fast frying BACON... *****)).

In the OLDEN DAYS... (when life was simpler)
we just let the machine finish making coffee...
THEN pull out the CARAF.

I like strong coffee... Steeping is part of the
BREWING...Tastes a little more like COFFEE
rather than just BROWN water.

(No point in drinking a quart of water
just to have a cup of coffee).

But hey... It's your money.

Inside of carafe changing color -- is it still safe to use? (have been using it for 6 years)

The owners manual with our "12 cup Barista aroma grande" recommends cleaning the unit with a cleaner / descaler that you can buy at Starbucks, or 6 cups of a 50-50 vinegar-water solution, or 6 cups of a 50-50 lemon juice (no pulp!)-water solution. You have to then run a whole pot full of water through to rinse the unit. My wife cleans it once or twice a year with the Starbucks cleaner, and the staining comes off the inside of the pot (you may have to do it more than once with a 6-year deposit). The coffee also tastes better afterwards - less heavy and oily, more crisp and flavorful.
