Good Morning,

Your problem has a very high probability of being the DC Power Jack which your power cord plugs into in back of the laptop. This is one of the most common problems to be found in laptops. It's extremely likely now that you've replaced the other two possible culprits.

I send all such repair work for my clients to one of several vendors on eBay. Simply go to eBay and in the search box type in "Laptop DC Powerjack Repair". You will be greeted with a good number of vendors who do this repair successfully as their main business. You should expect to pay $80 to $100 for the repair.

Best Regards,

Marcus

My dell latittude c610 does nt want to boot up i hv tried all i cn do its jus showing a flashing line at the top left corner

Hello,

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that this clearly might be a operating system boot up issue.
However, I would still ask you to check if there are any external devices such as USB Drives etc., connected to the computer.
This might also cause a no boot situation.
If everything is OK, you may try performing a system recovery(operating system re-install).
If you need detailed information about the recovery process, please let me know the operating system installed in your computer.

Hope this helps..

Dell 1749 won't boot power light flashes 3 times

You've got an issue with your Memory or the Video Card.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Remove the battery, Remove the cover that houses the memory then remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

D600 wont power up

Try removing the battery and boot on the power cord sometimes the battery shorts the system so it will not boot if it does boot then you need to replace the battery it could be the battery is dead and your power cord is bad check and make sure that is not the case if the power cord is good then I would look into replacing the mother board you can find a replacement on Ebay or at dell .if you have to replace it do a google search on hot to replace the mother board on a Dell latitude D600
and you will ba able to get step by step on how to disassemble it

Won't boot up

Hello my friend, for the first error it means that you must disable floppy disk from bios.Hit del while you booting and find the option floppy seek in the bios and disable it(usually boot options/advance boot options/settings) ,save and exit and you finished. For the second error you must replace the bios battery. On your motherboard there is one small round battery that keeps bios settings, take it out but first take off your power cord and push the power button for 10 secs so you will remove any electricity for not harming your system.Take the battery to a shop or electrical shop and buy the same/with the same model that is writing on the top.Very easy to find it and cheap too. After you buy this installed exactly as it was. With the letters on top and then plug you power cord and open your computer and make the settings in the bios i told you.Good luck

Power or motherbaord failure

open it ...remove the bios battery and after that put it back ..this will reset it ...and will boot ...just set the time and date and press f10 to exit and save ...
if it still fail to boot after that it has another issue ..probably a cpu fan or a ram memory

I cant boot up my computer(memory address line failure)

This is clearly a problem with the memory. You can try two things:

1) Remove and reseat the memory sticks (with the unit unplugged)
2) Swap the boards around. Windows is not very tolerant of errors in the lower portion of memory. Swapping around the boards will change the relationship of physical memory addresses to virtual addresses. At the very least, the memory swap may help to determine which memory stick is defective.

Please keep us posted.

Uninstall and reinstall the software. Normally the software installed on the computer controls the scanner functions for the all in one dell stuff. Check dells site also for any updates that might correct this issue.
