The whole screen has been flipped on it's side. the icons are sideways and th tool bar is as well

How to rotate laptop or PC screen flip your display sideways

Press CTRL + ALT + Arrow Key

It would flip the whole screen so you can see the video well. Just revert it to the original setting once you're done viewing the video.

Hold Ctrl+Alt,then use the arrow key to select the top of the screen(in your case Ctrl+alt and up).My father in law who is actually trained for some PC repair called me with this stumper,I played with mine and stumbled on the solution by accident.

Unfortunately not all screens flip when you turn phone sideways (because they're not designed for iphone/smart phones), but most apps should if they're designed for iphone.

first hold the keys Ctrl + Alt and use the arrow keys if this fails
if you are running windows Vista or Windows 7 right click on the desktop, and select personalize, when the window pops up select Display (lower left) you should see advanced settings .. in there you will see screen orientation that should allow you to fix it

You should be able to click on and drag the toolbar to the bottom of the screen. It freaked me out the first time it happened to me.

Try restarting the phone by pressing the Sleep/Wake Button or by resetting the phone by pressing the Sleep/Wake Button and Home Button simultaneously, after which apple icon appears and restarts. It might solve your problem. -- MS Ramakrishna

this is ok, either someone's yanking your chain, or you accidently activated an ability of your graphics chip, this mode is for "tablet" PCs which have a portrait mode. you most likely have an icon in the bottom left of your screen by the clock for graphics settings, one of these will be to rotate the screen.

it is also possible that this ability may be programmed to one of the hotkeys, however without model info I cannot tell.

your mouse should have flipped too, if not then someone may be fooling with you..

check if you can click your icons... if you cannot then right click on the desktop and change the wallpaper on your desktop, also re-enable your icons from this menu, you may also need to unhide your start bar
