Those old house are sturdy but create challenges for modern technology.
If the interference occurs as the signal goes through the walls, as you probably know, each wall causes the signal to become weaker.
Test your closest signal to the base 9without walls) to see if the signal itself is a problem.
Move your base to a location where the least amount of interference occurs. Move your repeater to strengthen those signals (as I'm sure you are already doing). And, just know that certain areas of the house will have weaker signals.
