Hi,

Try unmuting from the sound o audio settings.

Check in the device manager if you have the audio devics installed properly or not.

If they are not installed yo will have some bangs on the them like ?, !, or X mark.

You can download the drivers by this method :

This is the best way to download the drivers of all your devices which are connected to the system for free.

But you have to be patient.

First, i want you to download a ree program called "Orbit download manager" from the link below,

http://dl.orbitdownloader.com/dl/OrbitDownloaderSetup.exe

And then you can download a program called "Driver genius" from link

http://www.qwerks.com/download/6776/drvgenpro.exe

it is a trial program for 15 days

dont worry we only need it for 5 minutes

Install & run the program & in the windows click on the update the drivers

It will check & it will give the window with the drives that needs to be updated & it will not update a it is a trial one.

So you just right click on the driver name, you will get a message called 'copy url address 1' copy that & open the orbit downloader & click on the create new download & paste the link the drivers will be downloaded for free.

Some sites give these drivers only for the money & we cannot be able to find them from the free sites, so i think this would be a nice trick.

Good Luck.

Computer has no sound

Check your audio properties to make sure the volume is turned up and not on mute. Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound in the control panel. Open it and check the volume and check to make sure the sound is not on mute.

Check in the device manager to make sure all your drivers are loaded an working properly. If not download and install them from hp's website.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound and audio issues.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

Have you muted it by accident ??? try pressing FN+up and down volume key normally have a sound picture on it like a loud speaker

or go to control panel

if all else fails try here for another audio driver
download it

restart
and all could be good

Sound not working anymore. Tried reinstalling sound card driver but still not workingmr

You say you had previously had audio so this should fix it. Go to the control panel click on sound and audio devises and check you have not muted it.
If it's not muted right click my computer. Properties. Hardware. Device manager. Check you have no yellow asterisks next to any of the sound, video and game controllers, if you have right click and uninstall. Reboot the system wizard should find new hardware and reinstall the driver correctly.
It's got to be the driver or it's muted the only other thing is the card is faulty and I doubt that as it's built into the motherboard and you would have other problems if that was down.

No sound, and it says that there are no audio devices

i have seen this problem many times before if it stopped working one day out of the blue more than likely you have a virus that has corrupted your drivers and keeps corrupting them

right click on my computer and go to device manuger and look for a triangle with a apostraphy mark inside it .. under audio devices if its there right click and uninstall reboot windows and then try to reinstall the drivers again if that fails you may have to roll back windows with a system restore or format

if its a new build have you checked the bios to see if the onbord audio is disabled?

more than likely ur up for a format ... sorry to say system restore doesnt quite get rid of all the nasty virus's worth a shot but who likes knowing there is a virus on your pc

hope this helps

Device driver

Hey there byadava, when you reinstall an operating system, the memory gets totally wiped when it is reformatted. The result is that all the system drivers for your motherboard are also erased. You will need to get the drivers for sound, and other things as well. They can be found at the manufacturer's support site. They are free and you simply choose from a list of possible downloads they provide. If you need help with that step let me know, and please provide your model name and number. Good Luck!
