Program (skype) will not send or accept calls because I blocked it
So, I'm new with Kaspersky Internet Security (22.214.171.1245). 30-day trial to see if it works for me. I turned on the Proactive Defense, then a bunch of pop-ups signaling that I should allow or block incoming or outgoing network transmissions showed. I didn't really know what to do, I allowed a few things and blocked a few. Those that were blocked were mostly Skype outgoing transmissions. I wasn't actively using the program, so I thought it should be fine to block those at the time. (I also cleared the report cache in the meantime.) So, now the program will not send or receive calls at all. It gives a message saying "No proxies found", which I believe is a direct result of my blocking the transmission earlier. Since I cannot find the Kaspersky report of the 'block', how can I allow these transmissions so that I can use Skype again? (I did try to uninstall and reinstall Skype, but to no avail.)

Sounds like conflicting programs. Would you be behind a router, a firewall or an antivirus preventing Skype from connecting? Check the Skype website and see if they have a FAQ to see if they have any answers on Kaspersky. My recommendation is uninstall both programs, reinstall Skype first and see if Kas will let it run when reinstalled.
You can go to www.norton.com and download a 30 day trial for norton 360 if your particular to it. Otherwise you can purchase the full version from there too. Although if you want a good Internet Security Suite i would recommend Kaspersky.
Pretty simply, your Antivirus is blocking Skype from acessing the internet. Personally, I'd uninstall it and use Avast! Anitvirus, which is free for home users. I use Avast! and Skype together and have had no conflicts. (www.avast.com)
You might also be able to find a whitelist somewhere in Kaspersky;'s preferences, but I''m not familliar with it and cannot tell you where.
