Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Fujitsu Siemens D9500 with a Belkin router which has worked beautifully for 2 years. Yesterday my 2 year old grandson, while listening and dancing to songs on cbeebies suddenly smacked both his hands down on my laptop keyboard. His right hand hit the keys and his left hand hit the front left corner on the plastic area. Immediately the wireless connection disappeared. I'm just a user not in any way an expert so I've just tried the only thing I could think of which was the wireless connection wizard. It keeps saying no wireless network detected and tells me to make sure the wireless connector switch on my laptop is switched on. I have not got any such switch and don't know what to do next. Could anyone help.

Try to locate WiFi switch on your laptop. It can be physical switch or can be soft (like Functional Key). Right now it's turned off.

SOURCE: My laptop won't connect to wireless internet...

It seems the two oval lights on the front of the Acer TravelMate 3003LCi are not only lights to indicate WiFi traffic, but also buttons to turn the WiFi radio on and off for security reasons. If you press and hold the left side button for 3-5 seconds it should turn back on the WiFi radio. Windows XP (and maybe other OS’s) have a power saving function that turns the radio off when not in use to save the battery, so you have to use the buttons to turn the radio back on. Seems like a pain in the @$$ to me, but it’s a clients laptop not mine so he will have to live with that.

I hope this helps someone so they do not have to go through the frustration of trying to figure out why the radio has been turned off.

SOURCE: how to replace a key cover on a fujitsu siemens amilio pro v3515 laptop

Hi Robin:

I hate to say it but you will always have problems with that key coming off...I would recommend that you search eBay for a broken laptop...same make and model as yours perhaps one with a broken lcd...usually you can pick them up for around $10.00. And then replace the whole keyboard.

If this is something you want to tackle yourself please feel free to contact me for step by step instructions.

Good Luck,

SOURCE: how to locate the turn wireless network switch on on the acer aspire 4520

It's asking for the radio switch to be turned on. Some machines have an actual button or slide type switch, it will be marked with a wireless icon that looks like an antennae with waves coming from the top. Machines that don't have a manual switch can be turned on and off by the utility program that controls the wireless card. There are several different ways of doing this depending on the program. If there is an icon on the right hand side of the task bar for the wireless configurator, right click on it and see if it has the option of turning on or enabling the radio. If there is no icon, but there is a program for the wireless, then open the program and look to see if the radio option is there. You may have to open an advanced tab to find it. If Windows configures the wireless and there is no program, then open the device manager, and in the wireless card properties you will find the radio options to enable it. Now, if the radio is enabled, but you have the same problem, then this is a driver glitch, and you will need to uninstall the wireless drivers and reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers automatically. I know this sounds difficult and it can be rather frustrating, so if you have problems finding the radio enable options, just go straight to uninstalling the drivers. This generally clears it up. If not, get back to me and we'll see what else we can do.

Fujitsu siemens esprimo mobile d9500 drivers how can i download ?

You have two options for finding this driver:

1) Google the "fujitsu siemens esprimo mobile d9500 driver" and include your operating system in the search tag. Once you find a website download the drivers. I could help more if I knew your operating system and which drivers you are specifically looking for.

2) If you are using Windows then download Device Doctor, from It is freeware and should be able to find your driver. Make sure your phone is connected, then open the program and click scan, find the mobile when scanning is done and get it to download the drivers for you.

My Fujitsu goes on normally, but often the screen turns black. I've turned it off and of and that does not help. Then, sometimes it comes on normally. The computer is less than 2 years old.

There are 2 possible reasons which are both easy to fix, the screen ribbon cable is stretched or torn or the screen inverter has had its day just do a quick goole search on these 2 things and source the parts of ebay for under ten pounds

Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo 600. No power to processor.

Probably a PSU failure, although it could just be your power switch. Try shorting the power switch connections on the motherboard, if that doesn't work, replace the PSU with a standard ATX PSU. They're relatively cheap.
