Question about Computers & Internet

Open Question

I recently brought a 7" EPC Notebook off ebay and it turns out that flash player is out of date. Since the system is running on Windows Embeded CE 6.0 Adobe flash player doesnt support this, like that was my only problem. So i was wondering if there is anyway to get a flash player to work on this, where i could find one... or How i could update to CE 6.0 R3 since that has its own version of Flash lite

I recently purchased a Sylvania Windows CE wireless portable device and I am UNABLE to install flash players... Not understanding the diffucult in suh a small produt. Please I would appreciate service or...

This device only runs Adobe Flash Lite, which is pre-installed.
As a result, many Flash sites will not work with this Netbook.
None of the full flash players will install on this device since it does not run Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows 7 - it only runs the stripped down Windows CE which is one of the reasons it is so inexpensive.

Cannot get adobe for Sylvania 7'' netbook

No you cannot, as Adobe has not seen fit to develop a system to be added to CE. The Win CE system was really developed for embedded low memory systems such as telephones tablets etc. The Adobe products take a very large amount of memory and large fast processors, of which the 8505 found in most CE systems is not very fast, nor can handle any thing outside of it's embeded software. You have to stay with in the confines of what you have until some programmer decides to add a workable system to the CE system.

I just recently received the sylvania 7 inch netbook as a gift. It comes with windows ce,im not familiar with using this hard wear and for some reason i cant connect to the internet via wifi what can i do?

Windows CE or windows embedded compact is an operating system for minimalistic computers and have minimal storage. My friend had also that notebook but she just browse the features of it and later on she learned how to use it. Windows CE is not a complicated software it's a simple program and easy to learn. Good Day!

I have a sylvania notebook i want to change os how do i do that i have no cd rom do i use a usb flash windows ce is harable.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot change the OS on that notebook as it is an embeded system. The Gsystem is burned into a chip on the mother board and the only way at present is to reprogram a like chip and solder it in place after de-soldering the old chip. Then you would have to buy another embeded system and learn to program an EEprom chip.

Locked out of Windows CE 6.0

I have the "smartbook" Windows CE6 netbook, got it on eBay. Within minutes it failed, and would not boot up past the first screen. I complained to the seller, and was kindly sent a docx document with instructions on how to make a recovery "disk" on an SD card. This saved my netbook, and I've had to use it five times so far as the OS dumps frequently. I'm assuming all these 7" "netbooks" are fairly identical, the boot card would probably restore yours. You have nothing to lose at this point, if we can get each others' email addresses I'll snd it to you, you can decide whether you want to proceed. Are you still out there?

I have recently bought an EPC netbook, internet problems

3 mobile are correct. You cannot use the USB modem dongle that 3 supply to access the internet. That dongle requires application software to allow internet programs to access the port and so access the modem in the dongle. Windows CE does not allow this access. Find out which modem chip is in the dongle and google the name of the chip, this should lead you to a driver which you can use through CE although you may have to reconfigure the 3 dongle..
