Question about ViewSonic VX2245WM LCD Monitor

Blue power button fads from bright to dim and there is no image. If I press the button off and on again I may get a quick flash of the computer desktop.

Inspect the power supply caps first.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Why did my computer monitor stop showing an image?


Disconnect it from computer and power. wait 15 minutes and plug only the power back in, press the power on button. The monitor may display a message that there is no signal or something like that. If that happens the problem is either the cable or the computer. If you get no message then look for the menu button and press it to see if any thing appears. If not find the manual on line and read it. Many times monitors get over-driven by computers to the point that they can't display OR they self destruct.


OR

Another way is to just unplug everything computer and monitor for 15 minutes. Plug in monitor first then plug in computer and press the power button, the display should display the booting information if the cable is good and the monitor is good.

Afterglow Wireless Headset Blue Flashing mic light


i have the same problem. i am worried. i was playing counter strike and we finished. everybody was congratulating. shortly after a loud beep a bit lower pitch than the turning of and on noise that the headset makes. i turned it on and off. the only thing that stopped the beep was to mute the mic. fiddles with the 2 buttons, the light dimmed greatly and the mic started blinking blue. if you are able to find any way to fix it please contact me on skype : Sassy_Sasquach. Led display shut down when the detector detect an alert


You have the unit in dark mode. Press the Dim/Dark button again to get the unit to full brightness. THe unit has 3 levels of DIM. First the unit is at its full brightness, pressing the dim/dark button will dim the display and the unit functions normally. Press the Dim/Dark button again will futher darken the display but when the unit alarms the display is turned off and remain off during the alert. After the alert is over the unit waits 20 seconds of no alert to turn the display back on.

The laptop screen turned a funny orange color on start up and then the screen went dark. Pressing the brightness buttons has no affect. Any quick fix?


Check it on an external monitor to see if the video card is good. If the external works, then the LCD or backlight is bad. Look with a flashlight. If there is a very dim image, then it is probably the backlight. If no image, then the LCD.

This is a Function of the laptop,you need to adjust your Power Settings. See the PC, does that to save Battery power, it will always be brighter, generally, on the Wall supply. You may need to set up a profile for both.

this is not a computer problem you have to press the buttons on your monitor that is a menu when the menu comes up change the brightness

Gateway 900g monitor will not turn on. When the power button is pushed, the blue light just flashes.


Check the monitor with a known-good cable. Look for bent pins in the connector to be safe. Next, have a bright flashlight handy. Dim or turn off the lights in the room. Turn on the flashlight and hold it very close to the screen. Look around the screen carefully and try to see a dim image in the display--if you can see the computer image, it means a problem exists with either the power supply section or, the actual display section. What is happening in this case is two(2) extemely thin, very bright, fluorescent tubes are failing to ignite. These tubes are usually laid top and bottom on the larger monitors, out of view by the user. Their light is transmitted through a series of specially designed plastic sheets which reflect against a shiny back sheet--this gives you the crisp, bright whites and colors in the image. Warning: if repairable, this is a very involved repair. Have purchasing a new monitor in the back of your mind if you send the unit out to a repair facility for a quote.--Just my thoughts--Rick

Backlight only stays on for a few seconds on compaq c700 that is only a year old


When the external AC power supply is unplugged from a notebook, the LCD display will dim to conserve on battery power. During times of heavy battery power operation; such as during the startup or boot process, the display may be very dim or barely readable. If the display remains dim when the notebook is operating on the Windows desktop, follow the steps below to resolve problems with display brightness Restart the notebook with AC power Follow the steps below to determine if the dim display is due to a hardware failure:
  1. Connect the AC adapter to the notebook and a working electrical outlet.
  2. Power down the notebook PC by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds.
  3. Press the power button again to start the computer.
If the display is still dim after restarting with the AC adapter connected, try changing the LCD brightness. Adjust the LCD brightness using the function keys From the Windows desktop, hold the fn key and press the f7 key c00776226.jpg to increase or the f8 key c00776225.jpg to decrease the brightness of the display. If using the function keys does not resolve the problem and you have a Lid Actuator on your particular model, check the movement of the Lid Actuator switch to determine that it moves freely and is not stuck. NOTE: The key numbers ( f7 or f8 ) may vary depending on the notebook PC; however, the images on the keys should be familiar. Check the movement of the Lid Actuator switch The Lid Actuator switch is available on some models. It is a small button or switch located above the keyboard near the hinge for the LCD. Pressing this switch when the computer is on may turn the notebook display off, or it may cause the notebook to enter a different power state. Press the switch two to three times while observing the display. If the display does not return to normal brightness when the switch is released, the switch may be sticking and need to be repaired. Contact HP service and support for further assistance. If the display turns off when the switch is pressed, the power management function may be set to hibernate or turn off when the lid is closed. Install updated BIOS and drivers To resolve certain hardware and software issues, use HP Health Check to automatically search the HP web site for an updated BIOS as well as any updated software and drivers. To launch HP Health Check, follow the steps below.
  1. Click Start , type health into the search field, and then select HP Health Check from the list. HP Health Check displays a list of available BIOS, software, and driver updates for your particular model.
  2. Click the description link for any BIOS, software, or driver updates, and then follow the on-screen instructions. You can only install one update at a time.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above for all updates that you want to install.
You have now installed the available BIOS, software, and driver updates for your particular computer model. Contact HP service and support If the display remains dim after doing the troubleshooting steps listed in this document, contact HP service and support for further assistance.

HP dv1000 monitor just stopped working.

It may also be located near the display hinges. Pressing this switch when the computer is on may turn the notebook display off or cause the notebook to enter a different power state. Press the switch 2-3 times while observing the display. If the display is no longer dim the switch may need to be repaired. Contact HP service and support for further assistance.
