Question about Denon DVD-3910 DVD Player

1 Answer

My denon3910 won't recognize sacd which usually played on it. And also only show channels front and no 5 small boxes like he use to do in the pass. Sometimes I put sacd and he can't read it show only 00000 and after a second try tin r ecognise the disk but show only 2 channels. I did try also the DVD multi channel music and no problems was accured on those discs. So it just the sacd discs that seem to have the above probes. Please help me on that one I love this DVD player too much!! Shlomore reichani

How do I open the it? And if it's dirty problem why it's only happened with sacd discs ? Is there a reset I can try first? Or is there a firm update that might solve the problem? To open it will be the last thing I would like to do. !

Apparently the unit is no longer capable of reading the SACD track so it defaults to the standard cd one . You need to clean the laser head : dismantle the player to access the  head; use a can of compressed air to blow away all the dust from inside it - be especially thorough with the space between the lens and the sensor; wipe the lens with a soft q-tip; make sure the mechanism is clean and oil it.

You take out the top cover - hold in place by screws.

It happens only on SACD because  on it the track is very fine, the data more densely packed and the error correcting mechanism fails when deluged under a huge amount of corrupt data, even more than the one from the dvd's - it uses the same laser.
Since the disks with which you now have problem were playing just fine not so long ago  it means that the problem is hardware, so a firmware update is useless.
If you are too afraid of opening it then take it to a repair shop, they will do it for you.

Do all members in a YouTube group recieve a YouTube Play Button Plaque???
Who qualifies? Any YouTube channel that has passed a certain subscription threshold qualifies for the rewards.
What are the thresholds? We have two levels of rewards: channels with over 1 million subscribers; and channels with over 100,000 subscribers.
When does a channel qualify? A channel only needs to pass the threshold once to qualify.
What are the rewards? We are recognizing those qualifying channels with 100,000 subscribers with a limited edition, commemorative Silver Play Button.
For qualifying channels with over 1 million subscribers, we are recognizing them with a limited edition, commemorative Gold Play Button.
How long will it take for my rewards to arrive? Once you have uploaded your shipping address in the rewards redemption website, the rewards can take eight to twelve weeks for processing and shipping, depending on your location.
Are there other qualification criteria? We want to recognize those channels who have honestly earned the achievement. To prevent any channel from gaming the system with falsely inflated subscribers count, we use a variety of signals to determine which channels qualify for rewards, including but not limited to subscribers, views and watch time.
Will additional rewards be given in the future? We intend to administer the program on a quarterly basis and rewards will be given out to newly qualified channels several times a year.

B&k avr 7 with SACD inputs needs independent tone equalization settings

For your stereo configuration, refer to the preamp they are connected to for tone controls.
For your center and surround channels, refer to the B&K setup menus for those controls.

Recently had the amp repaired. Set up used to play sacd fine but since repair the sub offer does not play on sacd. Plays on everything else fine. Can only assume a setting has been changed in the avr200...

It's in the manual.

The ".1" in 5.1 is for the subwoofer. Recheck the analog cable for that channel as it comes from the unidentified SACD player. If you had mentioned the make and model of it that would have been helpful.

The sacd player was working fine. But now will not play them. Using optical for sound hdmi for video. Played around with different settings but will only read the cd portion of the sacd. Any ideas? like i...

Your PS3 may actually be playing the SACD layer but if you're listering through optical you're not going to get any better sound quality than CD.

For stereo SACD quality you can use the analog outputs; for multichannel SACD quality you'll need to use HDMI.

See the PS3 SACD FAQ.

Distortion on left channel of analog output

Based upon your description, the most likely caue is the D-A converter chip inside the marantz. This is a relatively common failure. Replacing the IC should resolve the problem.
