SOURCE: On our PS3 corrupt data message
Replace the hard drive as the data may be in a bad sector. I would suggest you use the sony method of carrying this out and not doing it yourself as it can viod the warranty or if you want to just purchase another hard drive.
the data is in a bad area of the disk and thus cannot be recovered. Now you can try something cleaver by take out the hard drive and run spinright on it you can get spin right at www.grc.com now i know for a fact spin right does repair corupted data by moving it out of the bad sector.
Replace the disc itself these people at www.videogamerepair.com witch I found in our directory does save this kinda stuff.
So your pretty much have two choices here.
Thanks and I do hope this was Very Helpful to you!
