Question about Carrier BCA101R Air Conditioner

1 Answer

I have a Carrier Airconditioner split system unit which I purchased in 1995. The model number is 42KNL018703. Can you tell me what kw output this is. I want to replace my current airconditioner with a similar output as it is now 15 years old. I am thinking a 7.0 kw output will do.

Sound like a defective receiver board. Have this checked. Also check to see that your remote transmits. Hold the top part of the remote to your phone or digital camera lens. press a button and a light should appear on the screen of your phone or digital camera screen.

TRYING TO FIND THE RIGHT DUCTED AIRCONDITIONER COLMAN. FOR 1995 TRAILER

The upper unit doesn't matter ( the actual ac unit on roof ) it's the lower control unit (inside at ceiling) that you need to change to use either ducted or non-ducted system. Any RV dealer can supply that, probably have it on the shelf. Just make sure you write down the model number and serial number, off the bottom of the upper unit, so they can match lower unit to it, for ducted system.

I have an airconditioner a Kelvinator KSR20C Split system

Your condensor fan motor has more than likely gone out. This fan should run at all times when the unit is on. Since the fan isn't working then the motor must have gone out.

Enter the name of the unit into your browser. It will ask for a model #. Enter that. All the info you need should be displayed. (I can tell by the model# your unit is 3 ton. Rule of thumb; 10 amps/ton Therefore 6.2 KW)

It sounds like the compressor in the outdoor unit is shorted to ground. Checking this should probably be done by a qualified professional due to the dangerous nature of the high voltage that the outdoor unit uses.
