Question about Kenwood Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Hi I recently bought a Kenwood KDC-4047UG in Germany and even thou the stereo works fine, it always goes back to DEMO mode after I turn off the car engine. I have no problem taking if off when I start the car but is becoming annoying to have to turn off the DEMO mode every time I start my car and also have to get the settings installed like the radio preset stations, equalizer and so on. Please let me know how to remove the DEMO mode forever as soon as your time allows, thank you.

I have a KDC-PM445U kenwood stereo and the problem is that it won't play any music, on the display it shows that it's reading the iPod or CD but there's no music. But when I play the radio then it plays...

Firstcheck whether it is still in demo mode. to cancel demo mode -- press [enter]when message flashes "to cancel DEMO mode press ENTER key" for 10-15 secs. Turn the control knob to "YES" and press ENTER key. If it still fails to operate properly press the rest button to return to factory settings(The reset button is behind the front console)

Security Code for Protect mode

Turn on the car so the radio is flashing "Protect." Look on the front / removable face of the stereo. On it you will find a small round hole - that's a reset button. Find a small paper clip, unfold the clip and stick it gently into the hole. The "Protect" will stop flashing, and Kenwood will be displayed. Unfortunately all your settings/presets will be gone, but at least the stereo is working again!
