Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

USB connector Hard Disk faulty

Usually you wont be able to change the USB-connector (problem 1: where to get an identical connector; problem 2: how to solder it without damaging something else). :-((
If you have important data on it, the best would be to take the hard drive out of the case and buy a USB-adapter for it (PATA or SATA as needed). With that you can access your data and copy them to something else - maybe a new external hard-drive.

check for Memory, Hdisk and CDrom Drive,... for problems.

1st. Change Memory for new one
2nd. Disconnect Hdisk
3rd. Disconnect Cdrom Drive
4rd Disconnect Modem and Wireless Boards

If Still have same problems, your Mainboard is Defective, and go to local repair store, to change Motherboard.

This step is the more expensive, normaly is more than half price of a new notebook

This is an old problem, I assume you've figured it out by now, but I'll post for any others who may have this problem.

The SATA controller needs to be changed in the BIOS, I think the default is ACPI or something that and it needs to be changed to IDE, if not then it's vice versa.... Just whichever one is it, change it to the other

Transfering data from an old computer to a new one

that depends on how much is the size of files to be copied. in fact you dont need a CD to do it if you have an external hdisk enclosure that you can put the hdisk of the old PC. just place it in the enclosure with the proper cabling and then attach to the pc where you wanted to copy the files.

if you attached the new hdisk as an addition then you just have to change jumper settings of your hdisk. your old hdisk you should change jumper to slave then the new one to master. you will see that jumpers at the rear end of the hdisks. check the labels of the disk so you know how to set the jumpers because that depends on what the brand is. can you tell me if you are using a generic mother board or brnaded PC.

I have a compaq presario 5900T. It will not boot up past the windows logo. A stop error comes up that says inaccessible_boot_device. I can't find my quick restore disks. Help

this symptom may need more of a factory repair for your hdisk. but to confirm that, what i normally do in such cases to be able to recover the data i need if still readable, i remove the hdisk and use it in an external drive (USB) see if it is able to read the disk. In most cases, only the OS is corrupted. if that is so then you need to get your recovery disk that came along with your PC and re-install only.

Cannot boot into windows.

Try putting the jumper on your drive to CS (cable select) and make sure your hard drive is located at the end of the ribbon cable. This is assuming you are using a 80-conductor cable and not 40. If you happen to be using a 40-conductor cable (unlikely) make sure its on the middle of the ribbon cable. See if this works.
