    My laptop detects the router signal, but I am getting the Limited Connectivity message.  I thought my DSL modem was defective, but when I connect it directly to my laptop I realized it works just fine.
    What's wrong with my Netgear router?

I have the netgear wpn824 v.3, i use windows vista premium, i was also getting limited connection. this is a suggestion, it worked for me.i first turned off my computer, then i disconnected the modem, and disconnected the router. i waited approx. 5 minutes. i reconnected the modem, waited till all the lights came on, then reconnected the router, waiting for all the lights to come on. then i turned on computer and guess what? all three of my laptops had a great internet connection, not limited anymore. it worked for me.

Have connected all the wires right, it goes through all of its routen then when tries to connect to the Internet, it tries to go through enternet explorer and gives a time out error and shuts off. Says canot find the Internet.

It my be the amount of devices connected? Try shutting down all but one, the laptop. It's possible you have a defective wireless device? If you connect the Laptop via a Ethernet Cable does it connect and work well? No internet access netgear router

It may be the device you are trying to connect. shut down everything, unplug , remove batteries, plug in the ISP model, allow the self test, plug in the wireless device, allow it to self test, plug in, reboot the device, laptop, desktop, ipad, phone, whatever. You say you can connect using a Ethernet Cable? Just no connection wirelessly?

I can't connect to internet via my tv all the sudden . I streamed a movie on netflix just fine just yesterday . Today it won't connect . I checked allt he wires and connections to the computer and modem...

Here are a few things to try:
- Remove all the devices plugged into the netgear and leave only the TV and Internet connection
- Swap the cable for the TV Internet connection
- Try a different port on the netgear
- Monitor the activity lights on the netgear

Are you still able to connect to netfix via a computer?

Netgear power is connected, but internet is not

If the router has no power you cannot connect to the internet.
If you have an internet connection then you are connected to someone else's router.

Internet connection problem

Go to your network wireless connection and right click on it and choose create shortcut. This will put a shortcut icon on the desktop that will allow you to connect without going through all the motions.
Then have a look at this article , and this one to reference your network setup and see if it's set up properly. For troubleshooting the setup, see here and here., and here.
Then take a look at the netgear support options here, and here to see what applies to your situation.
Finally, you should know that clicking on the internet explorer icon has nothing to do with your network connection or lack thereof, but really only starts the browser application window, which can use the existing connection your system has already established to browse the internet. You have to have an active network connection or IE just reports that it cannot connect. And you will have to use the network connection wizard or manually set up the network so that it connects properly of it's own accord when the system is booted. Then IE will connect as you wish.

My netgear will not let me connect to the internet via my wireless connection my main computer has internet as it is connecter via the yellow cable to the netgear my other computers have a netgear adapter...

Open Zonealarm, choose Firewall, Zones.

Add >> IP Range set your IP range eg to

This should allow connection between Router and Wireless Laptop/Desktop.

If your wireless PC cannot see the router, check your router setting to see if you are transmitting a SSID

Netgear Firewall

with the router connected, open Internet Explorer and type after you log in there is a option on the left for firewall and you can turn it off. If it were me I would use the routers firewall over a software firewall though. By the time a software firewall detects a hack, its already in the PC.
