You may have broken the safety or shear pin in one of the drive pulleys. You will have to take the pulley off to replace the pin.. Usually you can tell by turning the pulley by hand. DO NOT RUN ENGINE while doing this. If it turns on the shaft then you know the pin is broken. The drive wheels also have shear pins as well.

When i pull the cord on my lawnmower it kicks back and pulls the cord out of my hand

sounds like the SHEAR pin is broken, replace shear pin, this can cause the timing on the motor to be off. it is designed to protect the motor from hitting a stump, a rock, etc.

On the Noma timer Mod 49550/tm151p how can you tell when the switch is on

1) Noma is old Intermatic brand name used by companies today to brand their timer.

2) Noma is usually associated with Woods timers.

3) Woods numbers also frequently start with 495 and with TM.
For example Woods has 49588 49556 and 78 84 29 28 62 57 33 53 65 44 68 32 77, but 49550 does not show

4) It is likely that you have a Woods brand timer.

5) Add a comment with in-focus photograph of timer for possible identification

6) Open following link to possibly identify timer, and then add a comment saying which timer is same-similar to yours.

If a branch was already being chipped when it ran out of must clear the hopper of any chunks of wood in it. Pull the plug wire and use a metal pry bar to dislodge any pieces of wood. when the flywheel runs free, put the plug wire back on and the choke on. Try it now!!!

What is a chipper?

Most of our industry refers to chippers or chipper-shredders as pieces of equipment that can handle both wood and leaves. These machines have both a chipping device and a leaf-shredding mechanism. This mechanism is basically a hammer mill, cylinder or drum with a series of pivoting flail-type knives. The chipper-shredder usually is a smaller machine and may include a vacuum to clean up leaves. These machines can be self-propelled or stationary. Most chippers are disc-type, consisting of a large, heavy, rotating disc with knives mounted to it and are for chipping wood only.

Wood Chipper how to

Great input tina783. I have just one thing to add. Try to shred the branches within a reasonable amount of time. I found out that with my shredder, if I put older, dried up branches in, it tends to take a lot more time, as well as tosses chips back out at you. With newly cut branches, this wasn't nearly as much as an issue.
