Hi,
Try greasing them with some Vaseline...the valves do get very hard to work, but that is kinds water proof and should help you out...

The car turns on, after 3 or 4 seconds the car shuts off.

expensive guessing there ,wow !

why not find out why ,by using diagnosis, its far cheaper, i promise.
engine stalls:
A: can you save the stall>? with a fast right foot action????
yes, then its not 12vdc power lost to EFI system.
no, then it must be lost spark or lost fueling or flooding.
did you do the full 60k mile tune up yet? and the 90k? ever interval?
your mech. can't find this? is that what you are asking.???

stalls list, near impossible to answer not knowing, test A: above !
but here goes.
1: lost 12vdc power, EFI dies. engine dies. volt meter saves day.
2: lost spark, (cant save stall, test A, for this or lost 12vdc)
3: lost fuel pressure , stall can be proven with using test fuel at stall point. (spray fuel into intake) below 30PSI fuel, on all cars is bad.
4; flooding, from too much fuel pressure, say over 60psi, causes flooding, leaking injectors, so an injector leak down and balance test shown in the FSM.
See soaking wet spark plug tips (free easy check)??? flooding.
fast foot easy prevent stall, ? yes, ISC stuck closed. clean it
harder fast foot save is EGR stuck open. clean it.
impossible fast foot save is , #1,2,3 above.

all above can be tested easy and with cheap tools.
the engine runs by order. "classic list"
do the tune up.
1: 12vdc to EFI ,key on, all the time.
2: engine compression at spec, or 150psi. 90k timing belt ignored?
3: good spark and timed right. (strobe light test)
4: good fueling (not lost , or flooding)
5: EGR not stuck open, ISC not stuck closed.

this gets most stalls.
if fuel pressure is at bad shunt levels, +60psi , due to the fuelpressue
regulators stuck closed. (in side tank it is so is fuel filter.)
the engine will flood , i check fuel pressure. way before any ECU swaps. infact i check all ECU inputs first. and fuel pressure must be in spec range too.
good luck.

06 honda element dies in am replaced iacv & still does it???

hot engine or cold or both, just a clue here.
wow gue$$sing is expen$ive.
is the CEL lamp glowing ever running,, YES?< then scan it.

ok so it stalls.
after the skipped 60k mile tuneup is done
if it still stalls.
so you use the right foot action fast acting at stall...?????
and you can prevent the stall easy.
1: very easy, iSC stuck closed or throttle idle detection is bad.
2: harder to stop stall but can , EGR leaks, main EGR valve.
3: impossible. this is gross spark failure ,or loss fuel or flooding

see how far you get on my list. and post back.

first ,now how the EFI works not guessing
it tries all the time to prevent stalls if it cant prevent it, it does stall.
rule2, the ECU controls idle speeds at all times the ISC is the slave to that..... so if the ECU open the valve and the stall gets worse.
its not the ISC/ECU fault. its fueling or spark.
a lean engine stalls. if lean enough ,no ISC can stop that.
a misfiring engine stalls, too.

a tech, dont attach the ISC< no he does not
he looks at spark an fuel rates. using , a scan tool.
The ISC can not cover the bad tracks of bad fueling and spark
nor a stuck open EGR.
THE ISC is dead if the TPS is set wrong, and the ECU thinks wrongly
that you are not at idle. so the ECU cuts idle controls

I use my scan tool to watch the, for error,s DTCS,. and pending errors
and watch for closed loop at idle. hot.
if it is in close loop at idle and it stalls then the ISC is failing
if rigth foot can save it easy.
id bet the fueling and spark are bad or TPS not closed, signalling close or the EGR is stuck wide open'

btw., if eCU drop s to limphome mod (scan it) it will infact drop all ISC
idle controls..

we look for the true cause, do tests, then replace parts
never the reverse or go broke fast.

Mazda b2200 when i hit breaks the engine shuts off

my wild guess, you are driving car? not parked
eg: im driving along, i see a stop sign and slow and as i slow to
a stop , the engine stalls? bingo:?
but, i can save the stall with a fast right foot.
real easy save?, hard save? or IMPOSSIBLE?

if easy save tad hard, the EGR valve just stuck open,
clean the EGR main valve.
if impossible , say so.

super easy save might be , stuck ISC. (idle speed contoller) same
fix, clean it. in fact at 50k we clean both, per the service schedules.
all cars .

When I start my 2007 Honda Civic Coupe it stalls when I release the clutch. It also stalls when it is in neutral and I release the clutch. No other apparent problems.

moving only or parked.

the ECU, does its best to prevent stalls, in fact it can raise the
idle speed, to stop just that. this is ISC actions. idle speed controls.
if the car love to stall, coming to a traffic light , this is usually
the EGR sticking wide open. (it closes just before you stop)
you can save the stall with a fast right foot
easy? ISC sticking
harder, EGR sticking
impossible. (lost fueling or lost spark or bad DC power to EFI)
the FSM shows the 50k service to clean the EGR main valve.
it must not be sticky. the isc is the same deal, they too can gum up. 1998 , easy.

Fault codes P 0406

all 400s are EGR MALF.
can be easy or lost weekend.
only fate/entropy, rules this.

its path blocked or a bad EGR
this EGR has POT. read back, it has a SENSOR.
the ECU comands it open and the read back shows the results.
in this case it read open when closed'
if if true, clean it, if not , the POT lied and is bad. (wire can fail ,look at them)

8year smog warranty? 2005 + 8 is ? on the cusp.
it is a smog part. for sure.
here is a close example of the FSM tests, see how good it is?
get your own FSM. and all this stuff is easy
but here is my opinion, one lacking it that they fail to say
gee, the valve is stuck open (gander) and gee that makes it read near 5v.
so i clean it and it closes now, and its repaired.

How do you bleed clutch system on manuel trans. 1996 sc2 saturn?

ahaaaa easy....under the battery is a 9mm valve connected to a plastic bullet looking piece thats goes into the top of the transmission....fill the clutch master cylinder with brake fluid an open the valve when fluid start running out close it..now refill the system..have someone start pumping the clutch pedal.pump it ten times an hold it to the floor, open the bleeder valve while still holding the clutch pedal to the floor..close the bleeder an repeat the process until the free play is gone in the clutch pedal this may take many times to get all the air out...but dont forget to keep the system full of fliud or u will pump air back into the system an have to start all over again

Hi I have an AEGL16850 washer dryer and it is filling up with water when it is not in use. It is outside warranty and on a Scottish Island so getting and engineer to visit is near impossible. Help!

Inside of the washer there are water valves. These valves are provided with power to open and allow water in, then power is release to have them closed. The water valve is in the machine and connects the external water lines to the internal water lines. Chances are the valves are leaking and not stopping the water flow. If you remove the rear panel of the machine you can access the valves.

2002 YZ250F wont start

Assuming all other things are working properly(carb and ignition), check the valve clearances. Specifically look for any valve that doesn't have any clearance. This is very common, especially with bikes that have alot of time on them. If so, have the valve(s) adjusted, but keep an eye on any that had closed up. If they close up again in the near future, you'll have to have the valve replaced.

When the valves do this, they are held slightly open all the time and let your compression bleed off, causing it to be near impossible to start. If the bike does start, it will be much easier to start again once it's warmed up. But back to the same when it cools off.

Try to clean the throttle plate with a tooth brush and B-12 chemtool (parts store will have). Engine off / remove air inlet duct, open throttle, spray a little and clean thoroughly.
