Jenn Air 48" Built In Not Cooling

We have a refrigerator with an intermittent cooling problem. It will go up to 70 and then back down eventually to 34 (freezer goes 23 to 1). We have had repairmen out who have replaced the cleaned the coils, replaced the condenser and the compressor, and the last time cleared debris from the old compressor repair and replaced the drier. It has been down off and on for 3 months. We keep getting told it is fixed only to lose $'s of dollars of food.

I have had to have repair service once a year since I purchased my Jenn Air in 2005. Each time stated problem is different, works for a year and once again --- won't cool. At this point I simply say never buy a Jenn Air. I've had "cheap" appliances that last for years without a problem, spend big bucks and get ****.

The defrost timer is usually the problem and can be fixed real easily.

We just had a repairman out for the same exact problem. What he discovered ours was is that the lights intermittently stay on with the door closed. Test yours like this. With the door open, push the switch that switches it off and on off and on several times. Chances are you'll see that even with the switch depressed the lights are on. If that's the case he says it's one of the relay boards. There are four and the repairman will need to check to see which it is. Hope this helps. If this is the case for a temporary fix you can open the freezer door slowly close the fridge door while peeking through the crack to make certain the light is off.

aHi,
You need to check the following to make sure your fridge is working properly:
Vent blockage - Air flows between the freezer and refrigerator sections to provide proper cooling via air vents.
Condenser coil - When the condenser coil is dirty it causes the sealed system to overheat and therefore the refrigerator will not cool properly.
Defrost Cycle - When the refrigerator goes into defrost, the cooling mode stops and a defrost heater energizes to remove accumulated frost from the evaporator (cooling) coil, which causes the freezer temperature to rise slightly.
Proper Air Circulation - Refrigerators require a specific amount of clearance around the cabinet to allow for air circulation. If the refrigerator does not have the minimum clearance required, the refrigerator cannot cool properly.
Hope this helps.

We have a built in Jenn Air refrigerator Model #JS48FSDBDA

Remove the kick plate at the bottom, then you will see the head of a bolt this raises and lowers the wheels, I'm assuming your wheels are up turn bolt clockwise. Thier will be a bolt on each side. The wheels are contained inside of a sheetmetal housing. Once the wheels are down you will be able to roll it back and forth. Go to www.appliancehelponline.com enter your model # and it will bring up a diagram of your unit. The diagram needed is the one for the cabinet. Hope this helps.

Cooler wont cool below 48 degrees.

Keep a thermometer handy. (adjust temperature control knob accordingly)
Periodically monitor temperatures inside your cooler. (adjust as necessary)
Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible to avoid temperature fluctuations

The temperature of the refrigerator compartment is
controlled by adjusting/setting the thermostat control
knob, located on the ceiling of the refrigerator
cabinet.
To start the refrigerator, and achieve maximum
cooling quickly;
• Turn the temperature control knob (using a coin
or screwdriver) clockwise to the furthest
(maximum) setting on the darker blue section of
the graduated control dial.
• Allow the refrigerator to run at this setting for 3~4
hours.
• When maximum cooling is achieved, turn back
the temperature control knob setting to the 2:00
o'clock position on the graduated blue control
dial.
• Correct cooling temperature is a key factor to
consider in storing and dispensing draught beer.
• Optimum temperature for serving draught beer is
between 34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC)
• To maintain temperatures ranging between
34ºF ~ 38ºF.(1ºC ~ 3ºC) We recommend the
thermostat knob be positioned at the "2:00
o'clock" setting on the graduated blue control dial.
• To turn off the refrigerator, (no cooling) rotate the
control knob to the "0" position.
