Question about Ovens

1 Answer

Hi I cant put back my Kenmore 790.7134 oven door back together again! I took the door apart - glass and all - in order to clean up some food that got stuck in it. As I was unscrewing the screws that line the inside of the oven door, two black pieces [listed as "shield filler, door" in the Kenmore service parts manual] fell down and I cant figure out exactly where they go again! Everything is apart now - door off hinges and apart - and yet I still cant figure it out. Please help!!

Yikes, you are going to need a schematic for this door, and unfortunately that is proprietary Kenmore information and only they can give it to you. You will need to contact them at:

800-349-4358

Just press 0 as soon as you hear the recording pick up and you will get transferred to a live person. Also a local shop that is Kenmore certified would have the information, I believe Sears is an example of such a shop and I bet there is one of those in your area.

So sorry I can't just provide it for you, I definitely would if I could.

Thanks
Tim

How do you put door back onto Electrolux wall oven......Been trying for hours, no success!

Hello paulascor549 - I completely understand that you took the oven door apart to clean it, therefore you must have took the following steps to do so. According from my research you would have to reassemble in reverse order. If you have already tried to do so and it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Door Removal and Cleaning of Interior Glass

Tools needed: Phillips head screwdriver or small quad bit driver.

A. Open Door remove 2 screws and washers on door lining at door hinge area.

B. Refer to owners guide? With door in broil stop position lift door assembly off hinges.

C. Lay door on table, position so that handle hangs freely over edge of table

D. Remove 2 screws and washers that secure handle to lining assembly.

E. Remove 8 screws that attach textured steel door wrapper trim to lining assembly 3 at top, 3 at bottom, 1 on each side

F. Lift door lining up and out of wrapper trim assembly.

G. Lay lining assembly on table with wool shield/inner part of lining facing up.

H. Remove 2 glass clamps via 2 screws per clamp. These clamps attach innermost clear glass to wool shield.

I. Lift out center clear glass from wool shield, this glass just lays onto the wool shield and is held in place by the glass/ clamps in item H.

J. Clean each glass with appropriate cleaner, Windex, bon ami, fantastic, etc

K. One glass that remains in door lining assembly can at this time be cleaned without further disassembly the lining assembly.

L. Reassemble in reverse order.

I own a Kenmore stove model #639539J2. The glass

yes. open the oven door to the first "click". it kind of stops about a quarter of the way open. most ovens you grab both sides of the oven door and pull up. some models have a couple of screws you have to take out before you can remove the oven door. then lay it down with the insie of the door facing up and take out all the screws holding the oven door together. some may be on the sides or the top and bottom of the door. when apart, clean first with easy off, then clean several times with windex till streaks are gone. assemble door in reverse and put back on stove.

Can't put door glass back in Whirlpool RF396LXE2 range

The answer is not as hard as it seems. I just tried for 10 minutes unsuccessfully to put the glass back in the two side tracks. Well the glass actually goes in front of them, the top holds the glass in place.

How do clean behind the glass on Maytag built-in oven.

You should have a 2 piece glass in your oven. What has happened is that the seal that separates the 2 pieces has come apart or is broken thus allowing air and grease in. You can take apart the glass but it will only be temporary for about 2-3 months and will get dirty again. The bad thing about it is that te more you take it apart, the more the band that separates the 2 pieces becomes out of its form, the harder to put it back together. Unless you don't mind it, I would leave it alone or just replace it and be done with it. The question I have is, is the glass cracked or has the door been bent? Normally, the glass lasts for nearly the life of the oven.

How can I remove oven door so that I can replace the broken glass

I just took my oven door off and took it apart to clean the glass inside. I don't have a maytag but they probably all work alike. Just open the door like you are going to broil something and just lift it up. It should slide right off. Shouldn't have to unscrew anything. Hope this helps. Arlene
