Wireless wont stay connected have to manually connect

As you move about? Or just sitting next to it? You can start by unplugging the ISP modem , remove battery, if applicable, Unplug the Wireless. Check ALL cables and connections, reseat ALL connections to the ISP modem and Wireless. Replace battery in the ISP modem, plug in, wait from the modem to selftest, plug in the wireless device, wait fro selftest, reboot computer, re-connect to wireless. Any change? If no , contact your ISP to test the signal, have a ISP tech come to analyze the signal, it may be a outside equipment issue.

any metal objects or any appliances that transmit radio frequencies affects your connectivity thru wireless. make sure the path is clear especially where the router is located.

I have a D link router a outdoor antenna which isadvertised for a 3 mile range. I am about 2oo yards from the antenna. My computer indicates a the signal strenth as good but i keep dropping off the net....

please observe signal strength as when you are connected to network and till you drop off, there may be distraction in signal strength while you are connected and when you check it again, it comes to good again.

Low signal strenth...looking for an antenna for a wireless connection for a laptop. Where can I find an antenna ? Local stores ? Walmart, Bestbuy, OfficeMax ? etc...

If you look on eBay there are hundreds of add on aerials that give you plenty of signal boost. I bought several recently and they really do work. I even added a +24dB booster on my main wireless hub now I can really use the power of wireless and roam away from the house and the office!

Just enter "wireless aerial" or "wireless antenna" as the search term and you shoud literally get hundreds of results.

Wireless connection set up

Are you trying to hook up the laptop wirelessly to the pc? because then the pc would need to have a wireless card as well....sounds like I need more info, but if you are trying to do what I think you are, you should just get a wireless router instead, hook the pc tower directly to it via ethernet cable, and then setup the laptop to connect to the router. The router would hook to your dsl or cable router....what service do you have?

Signal strenth

Ok, since im figuring these are fairly new products, you should call Linksys, concidering you are still under warranty. If I were to make a guess, maybe you needed to forward or open a port on the router to allow signal to flow between the two.
