Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hi, I have a Mitsubishi WS-55809 with a 2,2 error

Hi, I have a Mitsubishi WS-55809 with a 2,2 error code. I have tested the F9A04 and F9A05 and found the 05 one to be open. I understand that I will be having to replace the STK392-570's and the PICO fuses. I have been reading through several solutions of yours and saw that you have a guide to doing this. My question is where can I find this guide? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Great, my email is chensley@lagrangemail.com. I was going to order the parts from Suburban Electronics in Maryland. My question is how do I know that I am ordering the right 5A pico fuse, or is it the one on their website. Thanks again.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code 2-2 means short protect which is either caused by bad convergence ICs and/or 2 Pico fuses (F9A05 and F9A04). You’ll need to open the back of the unit and replace the parts that have gone bad to resolve this issue.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I just replaced the 2 ic chips (stk392-570) and the 2 pico fuses at f9a04 and f9a05 that were blown. The tv powed up for about 10 seconds then turned off again. Now i'm getting the same 3 second power...

You have bias resistors close to the IC's, I would guess you have a few that have changed in value and therefore have destroyed the IC's again. Now you must start over again. The resistors will be very low Resistance and tolerance and they must check exact.

Mitsubishi WS-55819 Won't turn on

If F9A04 and F9A05 are open the convergence ICs will need to be replaced as well as the two pico fuses. You will need two STK392-570 Convergence ICs and two 5 amp pico fuses. You ca get the replacement parts at the following link with free installation instructions. heres thelink.

Where to buy F9A04 and F9A05 fuses (Mitsubishi)

Those are called "pico fuses" and marked value is on the board, probably 5 amp. You will want to replace the STK IC's mounted to the large heat sink also. Any TV repair shop should be able to help or supply the parts you need (policy permitting).

Mitsubishi WS-65908 Error Code 24

If you have an ohm meter, check the resistance from F9A04 to ground, and then reverse the leads and check F9A05 to ground. These supply +24 and -24 to the convergence integrated circuits. The conv ic's may be bad. Also, code 24 usually indicates vertical deflection failure as well. One other check to make.....The pic tubes on this set may leak a few drops of coolant onto the boards. Look VERY carefully for liquid drops on the boards or a green and or white corrosion spot or two on the boards under the pic tubes-near the front of the chassis.

Mitsubishi ws 55809

22 is short protect usually its the convergence Ics in that model that can short out. check fuses F9A04 and F9A05 if they are open its most likely the convergence ICs that need repslacing. If you need further assistance, please reply to this same post.
