Try reseting it
http://pocketpccentral.net/help/ipaq38xxreset.htm

That should work with pretty much all ipaqs.

Other than that possibly a mainboard problem or lcd.
Not much else I can suggest, contact your dealer or
hp for repairs incase you dont have warranty.

When trying to synchronize with PC an error box comes up with a message-"Error occurred while copying datablocks from handheld. This key is already associated with an element of this collection 457".

The person who supplied the program I was using advised me it was an error related to the date on the PDA. ( Something to do with Julian Calendars etc.) I use the PDA to transfer data from a soil moisture logger to my PC.
First I cleared all data from the PDA.
Then I loaded up the data (with correct date) from the PC to the PDA, and went out and restarted all the loggers.
I haven't done another reading yet, but if that worked I'll letyou know.

Can't get soft reset screen on Ipaq travel companion rx5915

Hi,
Try This:-
To perform a factory reset and return your HP iPAQ to factory settings:

1. Press and hold the Quick Launch and Rotate Screen buttons.
2. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3. When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button. The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.

Pda ipaq 1710 not starting up

press the 1st and 4th button on the shortcut menu on the front and press the reset button. This will go through a complete hard reset and deactivate the battery. IT will take your PDA back to factory default mode. It saves you a lot of trouble. GOOD luck. If my explaining it to you didnt help then google "complete reset pda ipaq 1710". :)

Ipaq 3115 screen

You need to open your PDA and check for a false contact between the connectors of the LCD screen and the main board.

Other cause may be that the LCD screen flat ribbon cable is defective.

Either problem requires to open the PDA to check it.

If you have experience in opening electronic devices then you can try it. Otherwise, I do recommend you to have a experienced technician in checking your PDA.

Best regards,

Dropped PDA

First of all, you must dissasemble the pda if you have some experience with that. There are some possible problems, one regarding the display connector to the motherboard and the other to the motherboard itself.Probably the display connector isn't atached firmly to the motherboard. There is a worse scenario where you may accidentaly burned some dc convertors on the mainboard when attemting to power on after the pda was dropped. If you can, dissasemble the pda, check the connectors, remove and reconect the back-up battery, and then, just to be shure, perform a hard reset.
