Hi,

Check if the battery is placed properly and the battery connectors are connected. The firmware would have got corrupted you need to reset it and install the firmware again.

Resetting steps:
Remove the battery from the left side of the PSP while Wait for about 10 seconds and replace the battery.
Press both clear shoulder buttons at the top of the PSP press it until the PSP reboots. This initiates a "Recovery" mode.
Press control pad and locate "recovery" folder. This will contain all of your PSP content, like games, music...etc. select the folder and press the "X" button to begin reinstalling your content.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

When i turn on my psp the green light will come on but the screen won't come on and then a few seconds later the green light will shut off completely.

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached. If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

My game will not play

Take a can of air and blow some gently onto the laser in the disc drive. Now try your game again and see if it will load, if it still doesn't load then try another game that you know works. If that game doesn't load either then that means the disc drive in that psp is bad and would need to be replaced.

My psp fell and now games from memory card are not loading

Did you try the memory card on another PSP? Or try another memory card in your PSP? If your memory card works in another PSP, then there's a problem with your memory card reader.

If you have a PSP-1001 model, it's not your motherboard but the circuit board that holds the memory cards.

If you have a PSP-2001 or PSP-3001, the memory card reader is a part of the motherboard and they are correct -- bad motherboard.

Wont turn on - new circuir board, cos we thought that was prob

Replace your battery or use a known good battery from a friends psp. That's a good place to start. Start at the power source first and work your way through the system eliminating the hardware parts as you go. PSP is very touchy so be careful not to brick it.

Battery Or Charging Problem.

Have you updated your firmware recently? Check your PSP to make sure there aren't any loose connections. If you're comfortable with it, you could open it up and make sure the plug for the charger didn't come loose somewhere. It may just need a touch of solder to put it back into place.
