Connecting your computer to an amplifier to play music

Do you want to connect your computer to a amplifier or surround sound, and play music from your computer through the amplifier? If that is the case, you will need to get yourself a cable from your local sound shop. Ask for a "Stereo to RCA" cable. Plug the stereo jack into the back of your computer (where you would normally plug in your desktop speakers) and plug the RCA cables into one of your open channels on your amp. Select "CD" on your amp if you pluged it into the CD channel, and there you go

I noticed it was 2 red lights inside the amplifier, what does it mean?

The amp has 7 LED's in total 4 whiteLED's provide back lighting
the bi-colour LED white/ amber is the power/standby indicator (amber when amp is in standby mode)
The two red LED's are on the Phono Board and form part of the phono amplification circuit.( D1 & D2)They are NOT fault indicators and should be lit during normal operation.

My NAD C326BEE amp goes into protection mode at moderate volume

The protection only should come on, when the power amplifier has to give more current than it can deliver. (electronic fuse)
If in the music is a lot of subsonic, sound, so low you can't hear and your speakers can't produce, this could cause the problem. Normal CD players will cut of all frequencies beneath 20 Hz, but it could be your PC is giving everything from 1 Hz and above.
I would certainly try to play some music over a CD player and check if that would solve your problem. Not sure if that works, what you could do to suppress the sub sonic in the computer music.

I have a SONY amplifier, TA-F410R. When I turn it on I hear nothing. Only after I boost te volume (generally per speaker) does the amplifier burst open. If I choose not to pump up the volume, I can also...

My 1st thought would be the main power supply capacitors.
If they are dried out or "leaky" they WILL take a long time b4 the power supply gets up to where it will run the amp
Get the main capacitors replaced

Yamaha rx-797 w/Yamaha ge-60 eq utilizing prein/main out ..and ad

It sounds like you want to use the external amp rather than the internal one. If that is the case, just connect the output of the EQ to the input of the external amp. All you are doing is inserting the EQ between the amp stages now. Using the mx-1 rather than the internal amp is no different.

Eratic idle

adjust it to 16 degrees then, this should compensate the wear on your timing belt, but also then I recommend to replace your timing belt soon.
