Question about Alpine CDA-105Ri CD Players

1 Answer

Just purchased a cda105, the radio works fine and sounds great. Although when using the cd player or my iPhone it produces no sound. The display shows that the iPod and cd player is working correctly, the song name shows. I returned the first one cause of the same problem.

The problem is that you are not turning on the amplifiers,
pull the radio out there are 2 blue wires, you are using the wrong one
just switch them and the cd and ipod will work
good luck

Wiz. I have the same problem on mine, I bought an Alpine CDA-105, do not have external Amp, just using the built-in one, when I turn the source button, the Radio works fine and I can hear it perfect, but then I turn to my CD or iPod I hear no sound coming out of the speakers, it shows that its playing but no sound. I also when to the settings and turned the "Power IC" setting to "ON" and nothing. What could be the problem in this case?

Sony MHC ec77 CD player works fine, great sound but when I switch to AM/FM, why is there no sound although the display shows that is going through the stations?

Unlike old analog tuners, the new digital tuners will not output any sound or static if they do not lock onto a station.

CD will not play. The CDs goes in and out fine and looks like it is playing according to the display. I can change songs, fast forward and reverse through the songs according to the display but nothing...

Do you have the radio hooked up to an amplifier? If so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) to turn the amp on. The antenna remote wire turns off when leaving tuner mode.

My Sony CFD SO1 keeps skipping/display light keeps flashing

That is an electronic problem. Probably a just-about-to-break cable in the motor of the CD drive, that sometimes causes a short and turns off the unit, or sometimes makes it to comport erratically and produce the buzzy sound. If you have electronics knowledge, then you may open and check the wiring harnesses. If don't, take it to your local electronics repair.

Sound like you have loose connections. Start at the rear of the radio and inspect the connections. Then move to each speaker in turn and do the same. When you find any disconnected or loose connections make them good.

Eclipse CD2000 has no sound from a cd or sirius... radio works

If you have an amplifier hooked up make sure that the correct blue wire on the harness is connected. One of the wires is the remote amp turn-on, the other is for a power antenna. That would be why your radio plays through your speakers, the power antenna wire' when the source is set to radio, sends a 12 volt signal. That would turn on your amp if thats the way that its hooked up.
