Question about Jenn-Air JJW8230D Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

I have a Jenn Air dual oven. After we turn it off, it often starts beeping and showing F1. We hit cancel; it stops and restarts shortly thereafter.

Hi,
F1 error code is a common error code that means Defective touch pad or clock assembly (also called as ERC).

1. Disconnect the power.
2. get to the backside of the clock electronic range control.
3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire.
4. Make sure everything is clear all the circuits are clear.
5. Turn power back on to stove.
7. Watch for the F1 and beep.If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
8. After 30 minutes you do not get F1 and hear the beep, you have to replace the touch pad.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

I turned off the power to the oven at the breaker box and left it off for several days. I restored the power this afternoon and there have been no more beeps. Spells and incantations may have played a part as well.

HI,

The problem is with the faulty relay board or wire harness harness.
There are no home remedies for this problem. The only solution is to get it repaired.

Error code F1

I had the same problem and found this post:
http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/03/11/maytag-amana-jenn-air-and-magic-chef-range-f1-codes/

The oven had been cleaned earlier in the day and the touch pad ribbon connector was shorting. I cleaned it with rubbing alchohol and blow dried the whole board for good measure. Hooked everything back up and haven't had a problem since.

My older jenn air double wall oven

shooter, F1 is usually the touchpad failure. You can try disconnecting the touchpad ribbon from the control and cleaning the ends with an eraser. See if the F1 stops. Catriver.
