Question about Panasonic KX-HCM10 Network Camera

1 Answer

I was taken to the cleaners by my IT guy. I paid for 6 of these cameras and the panasonic software to run them and they worked great for about 6 months. He had them set up on there own computer and I started getting warnings that the windows software was a temporary version and was going to expire so I delivered the computer back to him and asked him to put on a full version. Anyway, a few emails and unanswered phone calls later, I drove by his residence and no one is there. I don't have my computer with the software or anything. I have 6 cameras on the wall and I need help as to what to do to get them working. I still have all the wiring and they run to a router thats connected to my computer. I can view them but I am not able to record anything. The top of the screen that allowed me to start recording and all that stuff is not there. Do I need to buy software, download drivers or what? Just need a little direction and a detective to hunt down my crooked IT guy. Brett

To run the cameras all you need is to download the software for the cameras. The software for your cameras can easily be downloaded from the panasonic website and your device will function perfectly. Although you might need to pay for the software licence. Sorry about your IT guy could help you get a detective to trace him down.
Hope this solution is helpful?

I used to run HRD before Simon sold the rights to the software to a guy in Florida. He now charges for the software. Since your question has been posted recently, I assume you're running the paid version. I suggest you contact customer support. Alternately, you can also go to QRZ. com and join their forum and ask your question there. The new owner of this software frequents that forum . Good luck!

Lumix DMC ZS1 w/4gb card not recognized by Panasonic PhotoFun software, and camera will not power down.

Called Panasonic's Tech Support and talked to a real person (!) on Thanksgiving Day(!). She suggested not disconnecting or turning off the system, as it might damage the SD card. Instead we concluded it would be best to leave the camera alone, and allow the battery to run down. I did, then removed the card. Bought a (Sony) card reader next day, and it works great. Just copied the disk directly from reader to computer, ignoring the Panasonic software.

Is the flash going off? Have you tried slow shutter sync with your flash indoors for some great shots.

Your best course of action is to contact CONSUMER DIRECT which you can access online or via telephone number 08454 04 05 06 Monday to Friday 0800 to 1830 and Sat 0900 to 1300, it's UK government funded so it shouldn't cost you anything apart from the phone call and nothing online.

JVC GR-DVP7 - Video to PC / Firewire Cable ... where can I get one?

Best Buy has a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. You will need some software as well to copy to the hard drive such as Pinnacle Studio if you don't have on already.

Once the cable is plugged in and turned on Studio will detect the camera and run the program.

The lens goes in and out and the screen says access and camera says that I need to turn camera power off

I wish I could help you guys.

That shock you got was from the flash units capacitor that is located to the right side of the lens. It is indecated by two silver solder connections - there is about 300V DC on there! It hurts!

Have you actually taken it to a Sony service centre or dealer?

They should be able to help you. That lens unit costs about 1/2 of what you paid for the camera.

It is of course the lens unit that is faulty. I could give you a part number for the lens, but you need special software to replace it.

Good luck.

Problem with Panasonic Lumix TZ3 - Software

As long as the camera is working OK, don't worry too much - the software isn't essential - yours is obviously in japanese, so unless you can read jap, installing a font won't help!. When the camera is connected to windows XP, it is just a disc drive - you can see it through windows explorer, and if you open the folder DCIM you will find all the pictures you have taken. You can copy these to anywhere you want. Also, you can use any photo-editing software to open/edit your pix. As I also have an olympus camera I am actually using the olympus software to open/edit the pix on the lumix! For a free photo viewer/basic editor try irfanview from www.irfanview.com. For a really good editor paintshop pro is good, but there are many editor progs outthere both free and pay. Just google photo or image editor

PV-GS9 mini dv playback problem

I covered several threads that recommended buying a Mini DV cleaner and running it up to 4 times. They also suggested to change to change your video tape as it may have been the cause of the original problem.

These solutions may have worked for many but not me. My camera was becoming progressively worse. It went to blue bars and no sound to no picture at all...just blue. After using a cleaner 4 times I became frustrated to the point I was going to buy a new camera.

However, with the camera still playing, I did the typical guy thing and rolled up my fist and gave it a good hit along side of it. Remarkably it went back to just the blue bars. I hit it again and it went back to a perfect picture. I'm not saying this will work for you and hitting it too hard could make things worse but I was at a point where I didn't care any more and took a chance that paid off.
