    Thanks,

There is no uninstall.exe in the Version 5 folder.

I have done as you said but it keeps on telling me to close "Team Viewer" which is not open. Any ideas?

Hi,

Assuming you are using Windows XP operating system, you can try to uninstall the "Team Viewer" program by clicking on "Start" button> All Programs > TeamViewer 5 > Uninstall TeamViwer 5.

If this option does not work, then you can uninstall the program by running the uninstall.exe file in the TeamViewer installation folder.

For this double click on "My Computer", then open 'C disk', then open 'Program Files' folder.

In the 'Program Files' folder, open 'TeamViewer' folder, then 'Version 5' folder. Now double-click on 'uninstall.exe' file to run the installer.

After successfully uinstalling the program, you can download and re-install it from: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/

Hope this solves your problem.

For more help and clarifications, please feel free to reply to this post.

Thanks for using FixYa.

    Many thanks for the reply.

Normally, the uninstall.exe file should be in that folder. Looks like the file has been deleted or removed.

To resolve this issue, kindly re-install the TeamViewer program by downloading it from :http://www.teamviewer.com/download/

Then, you can uninstall it by using the steps in the earlier post.

    Thanks once again.

    Many thanks for the reply.

Kindly check the Windows Task Manager to see if Teamviewer.exe is already running.

To do this, kindly press CTRL ALT and DELETE keys together or right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager from the menu.

Then in the Windows Task Manager window, click on the "Processes" tab and see if Teamviewer.exe is in the list. If it is present, right-click on it and select "End Process".

    Thanks again.

    Hi Ian,

Please let me know whether you can open the Windows Task Manager and if yes, is Teamviewer.exe is listed under the Processes tab?

    Thanks!

  • ian McCrindle Sep 14, 2010

Yes. TeamViewer.exe was there but I could not remove it. Now, I did go back to Applications and removed TeamViewer there. When I went back to Processes it had gone. I re-installed TeamViewer but it will not recognise my new I.D. and Password?

Did you delete the program folder, or did you use Windows 7 to remove the software. Using the control panel software removal tool reaches into the registry and removes the items.

To recover, you may need to reinstall, and then uninstall using an uninstaller program. Windows 7 control panel will do it, or download and install CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller (Free versions) to completely remove the software.

Ia I'm having a hard time getting on Facebook

Point your web browser at http://www.facebook.com

If another account comes up, log out of it by clicking the down-pointing triangle in the upper-right then clicking "Log Out."

If you then still can't log in to your account, click the "Forgot your password?" link located just below the password box on the login page.

If you're getting an error message, what does it say?
