Question about Husqvarna 160 CC Honda OHC Engine 21 in

Open Question

I have a Husqvarna 7021F with a 160cc engine that I purchased last fall. This is its first season of use. It ran fine when I put it up last, but when I got ready to use it about three weeks later, it would not start. After checking for spark and that it was getting fuel, I did a compression check with the sparkplug out. There is zero compression. Is it possible that the timing belt came off during the start attempt? If so, how do I put it back on?

Thank you, but do you have information or can lead me to info on how to put the belt back on if it has come off? Is it normal for these belts to come off? I will probably have to take it in for service anyway, but I would like to know enough about it to handle it if it happens again.

After some investigation and finding a stuck intake valve, I found out that stuck valve is not covered on the warranty, because it is fuel related. Also, it turns out that this is not uncommon in these engines. I was able to free the valve after removing the carburetor, valve cover, and valve spring and using a lot of carburetor cleaner. I must have been using some poor gas and got varnish on the valve. Sorry about leading you astray with the belt-coming-off idea.

SOURCE: Honda 160cc mower engine starts and dies.

Your carbeurator is crudded up. Get a can of aerosol carbeurator cleaner at any auto parts store. Remove the air filter and spray two squirts of cleaner into the air intake. Start the engine and keep it running by squirting more carb. cleaner into the air intake. WIth a little patience you will clean your carb. and solve your problem.

I am looking to buy a used husqvarna mower 24hp 48cut turns over but wont you think it will be a cheap fix or will i be wasting money?

kind of a hard question but usually the only thing goes wrong is fuel and fire. pull the spark plug out and plug it in to the coil wire hold the plug bottom to the metal in the engine. turn the engine over. if it has spark that's good, if it don't it might have a bad plug or coil. next take off the air cleaner and spray just a squirt of carburetor cleaner in the opening of the carburetor. try to start it. if it starts it needs the carburetor cleaned or rebuilt. either way if you are getting it at a good price it sounds like you can fix it for around $10.00 to $20.00 id go for it. good luck.

Lawn mower husqvarna problem

I have an XT721F self-propelled, auto choke Husqvarna mower. The first time I used it this season it ran for a short time and then just quit on me. I have since emptied out all of the gas and have replaced it with high octane 91, and have also added Seafoam to clean out any other issues. I mowed two weeks ago with no problems and went to mow again today and only made it through 2/3 of my back yard and the mower stalled out on me again. What's going on?

Yardbroom II pull start hard to pull

put a teaspoon of mix oil into the spark plug hole, some times the metal starts to bind in the engine. keep the wire off and the plug in and pull the cord a bunch of times until it starts to get easier, if you need to add more mix directly to the hole then do it. hope this helps
