Question about GE Refrigerators
The 2 problems are not related.
The dispensing crushed ice was because the ice bin was not seated correctly with the actuator arm in the correct position.
The actuator arm on the ice bin must be inside the slot in the rear of the freezer so that the crushed/cubed solenoid activates it correctly.
This is a matter of pulling the ice bin forward and pushing it backwards to reset it.
It may jump out of position on a regular basis and needs to be reset.
The no ice production is a separate isse.
The water valve on the rear of the refrigerator may be broken.
The water inlet tube in the freezer may be frozen shut with ice.
The ice cuber may be defective(coincidence) to the original problem.
1.Look inside the water tube in the icemaker to see if it is frozen closed.
2.If the water tube is OK,unplug the refrigerator.
When you plug it back in,move the icemaker arm in and out 4 times within 15 seconds to activate the icemaker.
If it does not fill with water, replace the icemaker module.
