The fault is on the chip. If you still have an empty cartridge (in your case magenta) swap the chips over and you should find it now works.

Clean the contacts of the inkcartridge chip e.g. with spirit
Press the reset/stop-button for >10s to quit the error ... but be aware that the ink level will no longer shown correctly
