Sound sync problem

When watching dvd's through system it works fine, but i purchased an optical cable so i could use the system with normal tv, but after 20-30 mins, the sound drifts out slightly behind the picture and the unit has to be reset, then it works ok again for another 20 mins or so, is there any fix for this?
