Question about Hotpoint Kitchen Ranges
I have a hotpoint electric range and for some reason the larger burner only heats up when one of the other small burners is turned on. This hasn't always been the case the range is about 15 years old but works perfectly except for this new really weird problem. Any advice or clue as to what the heck is going on?
You have a bad infinite switch. most likely the large burner that is giving you a problem... alway disconnect power before any repair.. you should be able to order this part online or at your local parts house.

Hi Will Lawler - If the small element turns on but the large element does not, then more than likely, the range has a faulty burner or switch. If I was in your position, I would personally contact a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs.
