This could possibly be a slightly oxidized battery or switch terminal, but it could also be a cracked solder trace or cold solder joint. First thing to try is to make sure the battery contacts inside are clean (clean them with a qtip and at least 90% isopropyl alcohol, or a pencil eraser). If that doesn't help, you can try spraying some electrical contact cleaner on the on/off switch, to try to clean it off.
Other than that, the unit will have to troubleshot, since it could also be a jammed tape or oxide build up on the tape transport. In that case, the tape drive has to be cleaned. You can buy tape cleaners, or have someone clean it. If you google Handheld Digital Voice Recorder Cleaning you will find some sites and info about it.
Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Hi,

This seems to be a problem with circuitry. This usually happens when more energy is taken out of the battery within few seconds. You might have observed the battery to be quite hot after exhaustion. The recorder needs to be repaired for the same.Unfortunately, this is not a DIY and needs you to send the unit for repair.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

For you to transfer the file ( without damaging or taking apart the recorder ) is not possible as you need to get the device working before you could synchronize the device. As you would change the battery, within seconds it will dissipate and the synchronization would not take place. I know it's hard and i wish i could have a better solution.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

There is no such option in this model. If there would have been an alternate solution, i would be the first one to inform you. I understand the concern, however i am better being honest rather than telling you different tricks which i know would not work.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

It just shuts itself off, is that correct? ANd you have tried multiple batteries? If so then the actual unit itself is having issues. How long have you owned this unit? It may still be under warranty.
Let me know and I will continue to help.
Thanks Tim

I would be able to help you more but you even rated my service as "unhelpful" so I can no longer continue.

    Thanks

1999 Pontiac Sunfire won't even turn over, but the

The radio will work even with a dying or discharged battery.

First, be sure to check all of your fuses in the engine compartment.

A full battery will keep the headlights bright with the engine off. With a dying or discharged battery, the headlights will be noticeably dim.

When you turn the key to crank the engine, does the starter try to turn or make a fast clicking? If so, the battery if low or dying. If it makes a slow click then stops, then it's REALLY dying.

If you don't have a battery charger, go to Walmart and get some jumper cables. Hook up a friend's car to yours. If it starts, then the battery was low, either from a bad battery or a bad alternator.

If it doesn't, you have electrical problems, possibly a bad starter or starter solenoid.

Battery dies really fast

Since it's a new phone, I would suggest checking the outlet the charger is plugged into. The outlet may not actually be charger your phone. If you try another one and the battery still drains quick, I'd definately see if I could return it.
