yes, this could be the connector on your motherboard issue. ask for replacement or repair from your manufacturer if unit is still under warranty.

Loose power connection on sony vaio PCG 7V1M

I'm assuming the laptop is out of warrantee.
It sounds like the power adapter jack is broken. To replace this you have to take the laptop apart down to the motherboard, unsolder the jack, solder on the replacement and reassemble the laptop. This is not something a novice should attempt.
Check with your laptop repair shops. The replacement/repair should be under $100.

My power cord is loose. It plugs in and charges,

Hello !

If I'm understanding you correctly, the wiggle is from the laptop. Sounds like a problem is about to happen. Your Presario has a loose power jack (connector inside the laptop). It is a part that can be replaced.

If you need further info, let us know.

Hope this helps.

Dell Inspiron 1505; Battery does not charge; DC jack is loose..

You have either a faulty connector plug on the power adapter which connects into the laptop or the loose power input socket on the laptop is faulty. This is because you need to press the connector upwards to make electrical contact.
Test the connectot plug on the power adapter with a multi-meter, wriggle the connector to see if your get the voltage to fluctuate, if it does not then the connector is OK anf the fault is in the laptop power input socket.
If the fault is in the power adapter plug or the laptop's power input socket, this can be repaired, a techo would have no trouble in repairing these faults.

Loose power cord input, the power cord receiver in the laptop is so loose it must be hand held to make the power connection.

The power connector on your laptop should be resoiled or replaced (if broken).

That means the laptop should be disassembled (almost complete) to get close to the connector.

I am not sure if you can do that yourself. It should be done by a QUALIFIED SERVICER.
Trying to do this by yourself may make your laptop unusable any more.

Also, you should do this as soon as possible, because next time you might not get power, even hand-held like you do now!
When you'll solve the problem, be more careful with the connector, easy plug/unplug.

Regards.

My latitude d600 will not start.

Is the connection on the Laptop loose? Most power connectors are soldered onto the motherboard and are notorious for becoming loose. If the connector is loose you it may be shorting out the adapter. I would have a professional look at it before plugging the adapter back into it. If you are shorting out the adapter it could present a fire hazard. Most laptop repair companies will resolder the connector for around a $100.

Loose power connector, how do I take laptop apart to access it?

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/ Be very careful and make sure you have a good working surface. NO STATIC. The power connections on the Toshiba is the only flaw on the Toshiba systems. You can get the new piece from Ebay for around $5. Just be very careful on working with the solder. Do not apply too much heat. The power connector is located near other intergrated components that are sensitive. Good Luck.

A local PC store should be able to supply at least the power connector that is within the laptop. A lot of laptops only have solder points holding the power connector in place. Over time and putting pressure on the power cord will loosen those points. The power connector itself should cost about 50 bucks. Having it installed depends on labor charges.

G'luck
