I take it is the HP Pavilion
try to charge the laptop for a couple of hours without switching it on, it might be the battery is completely drained.
the light will change to orange to let you know it is charging, when fully charged it should change to blue and stay blue until you remove charger. you should try to use the your laptop with the charger adapter connected at all times when it easy to do so. I do hope this helps.

This is the problem of your windows, normally this problem can fix only after re-formatting, you can do one thing, just try it before formatting Start>Run>type msconfig> then select "start up" tab> click on "disable all" except touch pad (eg: synaptics, alps) and blue tooth then apply and restart computer also if you are an expert you can also change services to "manual"...

When you switch the laptop on the blue lights on the keybord is on for a few minutes before switched off, but the screen stays black. When you touch over the blue light keys it's turn automatic on? HP...

The touch buttons are there so you can turn your laptop on into the Quickplay feature without having to load into Windows. So basically if you just want to use it for multimedia. If you was to press power button, these will just load straight into Windows. It is meant to do this. If you are saying that the screen doesnt come on when you turn the laptop on and are basically saying that the laptop doesnt boot at all and is just a blank screen, then it is very very likely you have a motherboard failure. Contact HP to see if they have still covered your laptop with warranty as this is a known issue on these laptops and some warranty had been extended

Blue led power light blinks even after shutdown

What operating system are you using? When the power led continues to slowly blink, that means that the laptop is in standby mode and not fully shut down. In Vista, if you hit the power button on the laptop or the power button under the start button, it is configured to go to standby and not shut down. Make sure to hit the arrow all the way to the right and select shutdown from the list of dropdown options.

Dv6120us power button dont work

None of the buttons will work untill the power is turned on and no sound will be heard.
You might want to try charging the battery by connecting the AC adapter to the laptop and plugging it into the wall outlet.
With the AC adapter connected, try powering up the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

After pluging in no power or power light

All of you have the same problem I have--the crazy thing won't boot up--blue lights but a dead, black screen. I've also had problems with the laptop becoming really hot. I've "resolved" these two issues by 1) setting the computer to never turn off. This works great until an auto-update of some program or other is necessary, usually in the middle of the night, and then a restart of the computer is necessary for the laptop to acknowledge the update. 2) When you turn on the laptop and all you get is blue lights on the keyboard, try this: Hold the power button on until the laptop turns off. Count to twenty and then holding the base of the laptop with both hands, turn it on its left side as you're holding it in the air, with the keyboard vertical instead of horizontal. While holding it in this position, push the power button. 99% of the time this will restart this crazy computer. I wonder if it's some kind of problem with the motherboard, but I am afraid to tinker with it. 3) Get yourself a laptop fan to help draw off the excessive heat so you don't cook your laptop. These HP model is prone to overheating and other issues, so we all have to band together to help one another overcome all its idiosyncracies. While all this is not a solution, it'll at least help you limp along until you can come up with a better answer. What have you got to lose at this point?
