Hi there, please do the following to solve this problem :-

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it then beep again about 5 seconds later. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.

Step 3. Wait for the PS3 to restart.

This basically resets the resolution back to standard definition.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

My ps3 was recently connected to a hdmi cord at my friends house now im back home nd i plug the av cords in and nothing is coming up its still connected to the hdmi

Hello. Sounds like you need to adjust the video output setting back to component. Go to settings, display settings, then video output setting. you may need to do this under an hdmi connection in order to see it. Once you change it to component then it will switch over to a standard AV connection.

Have you tried using another HDMI device with any success on the same port? It would be good trying something else on your TV just to make sure the TV isn't the problem.

Also, try turning your PS3 off, then, while it is off, hold the power button down for about 5 seconds. The system will beep, and it will reset the video settings. Try your HDMI setting one more time, but this time set it to 720 p to make sure the resolution isn't too high for your television.

If none of this works, you could possibly have a faulty HDMI port on your PS3. I've seen it happen before.

I have had my PS3 for bout a year now and I'm using HDMI cord and all of a sudden i cant see nothing on my screen for nght to day...why could it be?

Have you tried changing the HDMI cable and making sure none of the settings have been changed on the tv or the console? try the normal AV cable on the back of the Ps3 console to see if it works but make sure you consult your manual to see how to change from HDMI to AV and vica versa.

No hdmi output

hmm.. it could be ur tv.. or u playstation, its most likely its ur tv because it plays on AV, open the back up and take the memory catrage out then put back in. (this does not break any waranty u have on it because ps3 incourages u to open it up and get a higher gb mem pack)

Need Help

try connecting A/V rca cable first. go to ur diplay settings and then to video output settings in it select av multi. don't use HDMI settings let it automatically ask u when u plug in hdmi cable. Then switch to HDMI cable. I had a problem like this before with a ps3 that i had bought used. hdmi was set up and it took forever to set it up with rca cords. took many times power on and offs and unplugging video cords for it to reset. . not sure. Now when u plug in your hdmi on any tv it should automatically set up. and you have settings for a/v as backup. the other thing is it could be the just the port or cable.

Ps3 hdmi cable with adapterto tv's rca's

Just use the regular AV cords. They are 480i using an HDMI to this and that isn't going to improve picture quality.
