Circuit diagrams to many popular brand TV SMPS are given. You can figure it out there.

Go to the Radio Shack site and you may with the model number find a schematic or you can email/contact them for the value of the resistor.

I predict it is a precision value and type you will have to get from them if available.

Hello!you mean: colors out of convergence? nothing you can do about that, unless you replace 2 convergence amplifiers I.C. chips, plus all those burned 1 watt low ohms resistors with exact values, which only could be obtained via service manual or schematics. After resistor is burned, there is no way to read color code properly, due to partial evaporation of pigments. this is a "pro" job. If you try or tried, already to converge those "stubborn" crosses, there is more to do, even after you removed and replaced two 20 pin I.C. chips, soldered dead into sweep module, plus located and replaced resistors with precise values, you need to get your settings back to normal, by going into "factory service mode' or, at least into "convergence alignment" menu and fight with those crosses!Don't forget the white "****"! Otherwise, you will be re-servicing your set all over after 30 days of usage.good luck,Alex.

Hello Gio, Hi, a burned resistor is usually caused by a shorted part like a semiconductor or regulator, there are two things you should do, find the value of the resistor and what caused the resistor to burned, for the Resistor, the value is usually written on the board, If not you can find the value on schematics diagram (which is usually hard to find, but if you have one, fine), and on the same working model (very remote a possibility). IF this are not available, you now need the assistance of a technician.

I have the same problem, but it is open.  The color code Brown - Green - Brown - Gold.  If it is a resistor, the value must be 150 ohms +/- 5%.  To confirm the value, I open the working trimmer and remove one leg from the circuit and measure resistance.  The meter reads only 4 ohms.  Therefore, I think it is an inductor (150uH +/-5%), not resistor.

I re-drew the schematics from the PCB-layout and did some backward engineering to determine the resistor value. The machine is now again in excellent working order.

I can not even begin to help without the model number as each model is slightly different. Can you post that please?
