Question about Samsung TL 105 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I just bought a tl105 samsung camera. When in movie mode, I can't always get it to start recording. I get an audible sound, but sometimes nothing happens when I push the shutter button, and sometimes it starts recording.

If you've just bought it, take it back to the vendor and request they demonstrate it to your satisfaction.

If they can't because there's a fault, request a replacement or refund under warranty.

I bought it online, and I contacted Samsung via chat, but they were useless. I finally figured it out though. You have to half depress the shutter until it focuses on the subjest, then fully depress the shutter. Just poor documentation.

    Thanks for trying to help!

Thanks for getting back, you're right of course, most cameras have a 2 stage shutter, first to focus next to shoot.

You may be able to make it a little more instant by expanding the focus parameters, ie multipoint, more points or turning face recognition off.

    Have fun.

The five-minute limit has nothing to do with the memory card or the video resolution. In some parts of the world video cameras are taxed at a higher rate than still cameras. Cameras that can only record videos up to five minutes in length are not considered video cameras and thus are taxed at the lower rate.

When was the last time you saw a movie or TV scene that was five minutes long without any cuts or breaks? It doesn't happen often and very few people find the five-minute limit restrictive.

Video quality is a very subjective thing. The quality is better than that of almost all compact still and video cameras. It's not as good as professional-quality video cameras. Video has a different "feel" from film --- but which is better?

Since the recording length doesn't depend on the resolution, I'd suggest you always record at the largest resolution. Videos can always be shrunk in size --- they can't be expanded.

The sound wont work on my camera

Most cameras from 2004 did not include sound on the video feature.

What does your user manual say?

From my little research using Yahoo Search, I have found that your camera does have a built-in speaker, but no mention of a microphone

NOTE: Movie and Sound Recording Modes"
The C-770's Movie mode is accessible via the Mode dial on top of the camera (marked with a small movie camera symbol). Once in Movie mode, you can record QuickTime or MPEG4 movies with or without sound.

So there you have it. You have to tell the camera you want it to record sound or not and that is going to be located in the user manual.

HOW TO USE THE CAMERA

Hi Sonali,

To record movie clips first of all press the menu button, this will refelect the shooting menu of your camera, select the first option of shooting modes by the navigating keys circling the menu/ok button. Then press the right arrow on the navigating keys, this will open the modes of shooting. Generaly while first use always AUTO is selected, you may scroll up to select the movie mode and then press ok button. Now you are ready to record clips. Click on the shutter button (picture button on the top of the camera) to start recording clips and when you are done re-click to stop recording.

I hope this will help ;-)>

Regards
Premanshu.
