Please check whether all the cables are firmly connected. If the cables seems to be fine then unplug all the cables including the power. Unplug the USB cable from the printer and power it on.
Now re-install the printer software/driver and let it advise you when to connect the USB cable. When it does, connect it and let it complete installation. Now you would need to reboot the windows and it should now be able to find your new hardware. Now try and scan a picture/page using photoshop or any other software.
Your problem would be resolved now. If it doesn't get resolved then please post back with the error message you are getting on the computer screen or on the printer. Also, post back the make and model number of your 4in1 printer. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.
