Hi,
If you are heating but not spinning then you have a problem either with the motor that spins the drum or the belt...often if the motor is running you can still hear the faint hum of the motor running and hear it coasting to a stop often you turn it back off...that will let you know that the belt has broken or come off....sometimes a guide pulley will break and jump the belt and so just because the belt is off it may not be the only problem check everything else out also.....
here are a couple of tips I wrote about this also....

Belt is off or broken, needs replaced. The best is to
see a video of how to do this:
Go to:
http://appliancehelponline.com/dryerbeltvideo.html
Pop the liad and check to see if the belt has slipped off or broken.Remove the lint filter and then tak out the two screws then use a flat tip screw driver and push in on them to lift the lid.
if the belt has slipped off or broken then you will need to remove the front panel to reattach or replace the belt.there are two screws that hold the front panel in place located on the inside of the frot panel

Popped the top (lost a screw in the lint thing!) and it looks like the belt is fine. There is a large one - an inch wide or so - in the back, and a thinner one running in the middle of the drum. Both are intact and appear to be fine. BTW, this is a new dryer - used once - but bought second hand 2 months ago.
Any further advice appreciated, including how to retrieve screw....thanks!

I should clarify...it was used once by original owner. I bought it and have used it for 2 months - about 3x per week. Sooooo, it is still "new".
Hi there,
Heating element is working on dryer, but the drum is not spinning. I popped the lid and the belt is fine, per a previous guru input, but want to know if it could be something other than the motor. This is a fairly new unit, was only used by original owner once (was a house freebie), and I bought in July. I use it about 3x a week.
Hi there, no, the belt is intact.
There is nothing wrong with the belt, and I have opened the back and all wires are in place. Please read all posts, as I have already done some troubleshooting.
Thanks!
Tina
