Troubleshooting heating element on samsung steam dryer

DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot or not heat at all. . If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

How to replace a heating element on a Kenmore Elite Oasis ST dryer

Sounds like you need to replace the timer one the dryer not the element but to make sure I would do a little trouble shooting to rule out the element or heating coil turn on dryer cycle like normal for about 30 seconds then open the door to feel for heat if you do feel heat its your cycle/timer knob if you don't feel heat then it's the coil or element witch are the same also first always check your lint trap and ducts going outside the dryer make sure you have proper airflow through ducts vents. clogged vents ducts ect. Cause over heating of element coil causing a safety fuse to shut down heating coil/element but will not stop cycle also moisture censors detect moisture causing cycle to continue on hope this helps.

Dryer wont stop buzzing

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Timer
The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is bad and need replaced. If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. replace the heating elements

Dryer heats up, too hot instantly. Ok on cool down or blower only cycles. All vents clean and clear.

Hello,
a leading cause of the HOTPOINT dryer to over heat is believe it or not is a broken heat element!!
what happens is since the heat element is broke it falls out of it's holder where it hits a piece of metal causing a unintended circuit through the heater. When it sits on the metal piece whjere it isn't supposed to be anytime power is going to the heater it will heat very hot. That is why it doesnt happen on the cooldown or air fluff cycle since then thier is no power being supplied to the heater. by replacing the heater it will work normally

How likely is it that the coil/element fails?

Hello

The heating element in electric dryers usually don't go bad, they might work for 10-15 yrs. When the dryer stops heating its usually due to the Thermal fuse that goes bad and cannot be reset. The age of heating elements also depends on the usage/loads/ frequency of dryer. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

NO Heat ,when in Drying Cycle. Drying cycle works, but with no heat.Does not dry clothes.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in an electric dryer is usually caused due to three things: Mainly Thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in white plastic housing. If that’s fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Kenmore dryer takes to long to dry

You may have to get inside the exhaust assembly ...somtimes there are lint buildups that occur and cause long drying times. Also make sure you don't have a DUAL heating element model. I had one and only one of the elements worked when I repaired the second one it worked great. Most likely is the exhaust block however. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 62822 electric dryer

Check your heating element to see if it is shorted to ground.
The element has 110V to it all the time, so if the element shorts to ground it will heat all the time. This is a fairly common failure.

If the element is ok, you may have a stuck centrifigul switch inside the motor, this is very rare but does happen sometimes.

Post back to let me know what you find or if you have any questions.
Thanks/Mike
