Question about HP Pavilion a1250n (EG194AA) PC Desktop

1 Answer

My a1250n display is flickering. I updated the BIOS from HP.com, then I downloaded the update for the ATI Radeon video card. After the reboot, I am still having the same problem. The error is: THE ATI CONTROL PANEL FAILED TO INITIALIZE BECAUSE NO ATI DRIVER IS INSTALLED, OR ATI DRIVER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE ATI CONTROL WILL NOW EXIT. Monitor is HP 2035 The monitor port from the motherboard does not work so I am using the port from the video card. Need help

Go into device manager, and everywhere there is a "?" right click and update, see if that solves it, always restart after a bunch of updates in order for them to save as correct setting

My HP M7260n doesn't recognize my new Video Card...

You might need to uninstall the old video card device, so Windows does not use the old drivers for the new card.
Another option is to try and boot in Safe Mode (press F8 during startup), so Windows uses the VGA mode (which all video cards support), and then install the proper driver.
Installing the latest ATI driver updates might also not be a bad step.

hiya

as this pc is skt 775 and has dual core support then it is quite likely that the e5200 will work but may need a bios update to support this cpu...

just goto dells site and choose the pc u have and select drivers then download the lastest bios, transfer it to the dell pc run it as its a self extractor system will reboot perform the update then bobs ya uncle.......pop in new cpu and hey presto cheapo ugrado

#and as for the graphics card you will need to accertain which pcie version u have as most dell pc's only have pcie v1 so wont be able to handle the newer gpu's on the market.......

hope this helps

ATI Radeon X1300 wont work with my Vista 32 bit

Try this.

Download the unified Radeon drivers from ATI's website... do not use Windows update. Get the Drivers Only package. for Vista 32-bit

If you can get to the desktop:
Uninstall the existing display drivers by using the remove hardware utility. Whatever they are... remove them. Reboot. Windows will try to reinstall the drivers on the next boot. If it allows you cancel the installation at any time during install do it. Run the downloaded package from ATI. Reboot.

If you can't get to the desktop:
Press F8 when booting and enter safe mode with networking. Download the ATI drivers from ati.com for Vista 32-bit.
Uninstall the display drivers. Reboot. Should take you to the desktop on the next boot so you can run the install program.

Update

You did the right thing just not in the correct order. Did you update windows? You'll need .Netframwork 2.0, do not skip lower versions of .Net framework & download & install 1 at a time with a restart inbetween even if windows does not say you need to restart. The link below will take you to ATI's latest driver updates. After you download & save to disk. You'll need to uninstall any other version that reside in Add/Remove programs.
