Question about Ovens

1 Answer

Microwave stopped working after an apparent surge. Tried unplugging, plugging back in, checked breaker panel. Electrical for the microwave works. Think it must be a fuse in the microwave b;own? If so, how do I replace it.

GE Dualwave Mirco Oven combo - Oven works fine - Micro doesn't even show the clock

There is a very good chance that it has blown a fuse. They would be located behind the control panel. Be careful around the wiring to the high voltage circuit and make sure that the power is shut off.

Error E7 : F1 GMC275PDs07. Microwave works normally but will not heat. Magnetron changed out and still will not heat.

If your microwave is a 220 then reset the breaker by turning it off for 10 seconds and then back on. Then check it. Since you replaced the magnetron, the signal to the mag is interrupted. Did you replace the control panel? If so, then look to see if it is wired back in order. Does the fan operate when you open and close door? If not, then check door switch.

Ge profile oven lock button won't go off

  • 1.Press the "Clear/Off" button on the control panel to reset the oven. This will clear the lock setting and unlock the door.

2.Allow the oven to cool to room temperature to avoid turning the lock on again during this heating cycle.

3.Reset the oven to the temperature you require to finish cooking by pressing the correct temperature control on the control pad.

  • 1.If your GE Profile microwave won't turn on, unplug it, then plug it back in. A power outage may have occurred due to a power surge. Check your home's fuses and circuit breakers.

2.Set the clock of your GE Profile microwave. Certain models will not operate until you set the clock. Select the "Clock" key and type in the correct time.

  • 3.Hold down your microwave's "Off" button. You may have accidentally hit the control-lock feature on your GE Profile microwave. Hold down the "Off" button for three seconds to turn the lock off.

  • 4.If the sensors of your GE Profile microwave are not working correctly, remove the food from the machine. If the sensors detect food-surface temperatures over 200 degrees Fahrenheit, it will not work properly until the area cools down.

  • 5.Contact GE Support if you are unable to resolve the issue on your own. Call the GE Support hotline or browse the help library on the GE website. You can also schedule a service visit on GE's website.

Microwave shows clock but blows fuse

Microwave ovens have a transformer inside them that puts out thousands of volts in order to create the "microwave" that cooks the food, but the clock and controls are on the circuit before that transformer.
Most of the times the transformer is bad and depending on how much you paid for it, not worth the repair bill unfortunately. But thats why you see the clock, even though the fuse blows. I am assuming you mean the Microwaves INTERNAL fuse, if not then it is a model with a battery backup to not loose data like your alarm clocks do sometimes, therefore you would show the clock but not be able to start the Microwave.
If it is the fuse or breaker in your panel that blows, then either the breaker is weak, or the transformer it shot. If it is 120volts, try plugging it into another outlet by either moving it or use an extension cord from another outlet you know work..if it starts, then you either have a bad breaker or some other electrical issue with the receptacle and should get a LICENSED electrician out, I say that because I am a Master Licensed Electrician and just because they say they are an electrician means nothing unless you see their license, plus ins. usually wont pay if there were a problem if an unlicensed person were used.
I hope I helped, if so please give me a thumbs up!

    F6E0

Last night I saw the lights in the house flicker momentarily... This morning, I turned the oven on, set it to Bake and within a few seconds, the control panel reported error code “F6 E0” then shut the oven off. The control panel also reported "Lost communication...". I read on another site that this code may require replacing the control panel itself. Apparently, the momentary power fluctuation wasn't large enough to damage the electronics (since the control panel still works), but was significant enough to confuse the electronics controlling the oven. To fix the oven, I simply turned the 30 AMP breaker for the oven off for about 5 minutes. When I turned it back on, the oven worked just fine. Solution #1 recommends taking off the control panel, which voids the warranty. It's more likely that it was fixed just by cycling power to the oven via the breaker.

    Microwave not working

Hi your microwave is a total separate unit. first check to see it it is plugged into your oven. If it is then to check the fuse. You will have to remove the cover first unplug the microwave remove the screws from the back and side ...pull the cover to the back remove cover. there is a small board on the right side toward the back with a dark gray cartridge fuse. that is you main fuse. you can check it with an ohm meter to make sure it is blown... let me know what you find out?
